Today is the Holocaust Memorial day, next Tuesday night/Wednesday is Memorial day, and Wednesday night/Thursday is our Independence Day, all according to the Hebrew calender. "Retreat, hell! We just got here!"-Captain Lloyd Williams, 2nd Marine Division, Belleau Wood, France, WWI |

What 44HP said, dutchy (and BR). No offense intended. Rememberences and homage are very important for everyone. Obviously there isn't much of a Mexican influence in Israel. Think Corona and Dos XX beer, while you're at it. "Duct tape is like the Force. But oh well...there's a three day WW2 event up in Reading, and possibly a chance to challenge a Patton impersonater to a "who can stand the most hot sauce challenge" "It looks like thier commemerating themselves after D-Day." -.02 after scanning a book of french(spit) stamps Edited by - Lunatock on May 05 2005 09:49 AM |

But stand still and never forgot what other people do or did for your freedom. Salute Dutchy Termites do it in the dark! (47FS Barksdale afb) |

Wise words Dutchy... I know what I owe those who have paid and are paying the ultimate price for all our freedom. Rememberance, respect and gratitude is most definately due. "I can just punch holes in paper for sooo long before I want to see something blow up/fall down " - Boomer 5th May 2005 |

November 11th is also a Belgium Remembrance Day. I go now for the last years to Ieper (English: Ypres) for it. And I think more countries has that date as a Remembrance date. It was the end of the "Great War". Your "old" man is he very old? Salute to the veterans Dutchy Termites do it in the dark! (47FS Barksdale afb) |

Lift a glass to previous generations who lived and died to give us the freedom we hold so dear. At the same time we honor those who serve today. Thanks for the reminder dutchy. Of course I can’t pass up a chance to say: What better way to remember and honor those who have served than to preserve and protect the tools of their trade. Go to www.teamwarthog.org to see what we are doing in Sacramento. If you can’t help, share the site with rich friends. |

But he's a stuborn old Polishman so we'll have him around for a while yet. After being forced into a train at rifle point in the middle of the night, he spent a few months chopping down trees in a Siberian Labour camp. He was released after the Russian - Polish pact was signed and joined the Polish Second Corps under General W³adys³aw Anders and went through Iran, Iraq and Palestine before crossing the Med and ending up at Monte Cassino where he was one of the first troops to reach the monastery. So he's seen a bit of the world... "I can just punch holes in paper for sooo long before I want to see something blow up/fall down " - Boomer 5th May 2005 |
