My contract is up in three weeks so it looks like I will be moving out of the A-10 world after 13 years. I don't think I will know how to act not working the A-10 anymore but, I guess all things happen for a reason...that's what I've been told anyway. Got a couple of jobs I'm looking at and I may end up back on the F-4 doing some "base-line" work on the Phantom. There are no "external" GS or WG jobs open right now because it's so close to the end of the fiscal year, maybe something will come along in 06. I'll keep you guys/gals posted on where I end-up. I'm going to spend the winter trying to finish my door art book and start the research on other A-10 book I would like to do. I'm still looking for door art and the stories behind them. Thanks guys it will be strange not working the A-10 but, Hey it's been a hile since I talked to the old crowd from my F-4 days...maybe to long. I did get an offer from Lockheed Martin but I would have to move to Nellis...not an option at this stage in life. Ugly But Well Hung |

I've got to get me a GS/WG job, going through this contract crap every year is just not the way to go. Even if I do get a new contrat with the A-10s I will keep looking for a GS/WG slot and will bail as soon as I can. I was hoping to be picked-up as an ES with the A-10 SPO but, it seems I've burned a few bridges this past year. Prkiii, I know you understand the politics involved in goverment service but, it's taken me a hard year to began to understand.<img src=newicons/anim_bs.gif border=0 align=middle> Ugly But Well Hung |

Civil Service does not "mix" well with an active duty, mission before self attitude that I have. I don't care if "it's been done that way forever." If it isn't authorized in Tech Orders, an AFI, or some other written guidance...it isn't authorized. I've gone toe to toe with some individuals many times, hell, even the person I'm about to work for and promoted me, her & I have gone head to head MANY times...should make for an interesting work experience. when you get down to boiling out then distilling the alcohol out of shoe polish and other household items then your introuble. But if you need a good source the bums used to tell us in EMS that sterno had a hell of a kick. Or just have a drinking problem. Dice seriously good luck. |

Well, the last nail in the coffin happen Friday. All 05 moneys not used already was pulled (and there is no 06 money for this) so there's no hope for a new contract. I know what Thug was talking about now but that fell through also. Off to the unemployment office today and also dropping off my 612 for a couple of jobs on base. Ugly But Well Hung |

I have to turn mine in Layton because I'm an "outside hire". Thanks a lot for your imputs and help on it, all I can do now is wait to see if I make the cut. I do have a couple of friends in MAB who going to speak to the training section and see if they can get me a leg-up, or at the very least an interview. For the rest of you this was for a maintenance instructor poistion, something I did for over 6 years in the AF. Ugly But Well Hung |
