Is it just me, or is it a bit of a tactical FUBAR to openly post that you can't actually lock out the trouble makers? The mods all have my full trust and backing. All they have to do is ask, and i will ban any poster they feel deserves it. If i didn't trust their judgement to begin with, they wouldn't be mods to begin with. 
LOL...... .44, always the envelope pusher. I admire that in a person. It would be a shame to have to make an example of you.

44 remember the what in a name post. one must understand the pyschy of limped, jello hosed, and less climatically challenged. I guess I missed something important again? I read the Mod post and wonder why it would upset someone? .44 you are a good bloke, why antaginize Snipe? It really doesnt matter that everyone knows we mods cant ban someone, Snipe can get it done ASAP. We are just little overseers, not big bad Admins. I dont envy you guys one bit! Been both and this place is "Quite", its the trolls who use more than one computer (IP Address) that drives you nuts. And keep worming their way in. Found out on the other board,the new one had a Flaw, If you edited out someones post (attacking people etc...) or just plain "OUT OF THE MOTHERSHIP" they could go back in and print what they want and the board doesnt recycle the post. So some would go back days and re-write the crap and nobody would know Plus If you moved a post to another section it would go to the time it was posted on the other topic and you wouldnt know if it was moved unless you did it. It got real "<img src=newicons/anim_cussing.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=newicons/madani.gif border=0 align=middle>" having to go back and re-read certain ones postings to make sure they werent screwing around without just locking the damn topic. For all my <img src=newicons/anim_bs.gif border=0 align=middle> I'm actually one of the most 'straight down the line' guys you'll find. It's an accepted fact that any position of authority or power will always atract some sort of stick from the grunts below. That doesn't mean the grunts aren't loyal to the cause. Sometimes I will nudge the boundaries, but I'm always REAL careful not to say or do anything that's <b>intended</b> to cause offence. And if I do, I always apologise. I've said it publically and privately, this is one of the best forums on the web. I've not found anywhere else that mixes informed debate with social chat quite so well. Some other boards might as well be full of clones and drones for all the fun you get. And that's down to the folk who post here but (and here's the bit that hurts) also down to the mods and admins. Everybody knows that you give everybody plenty of slack to kick back and have some fun, but will come down on anybody who crosses the line. So if my odd Brit sense of humour (sometimes it doesn't cross the pond very well) has pissed anybody off, I'm sorry, it wasn't intended. But look at it this way - Where would M*A*S*H have been without Clinger, Bilko without Grover, And Fred without Ginger <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>... HP I've been here for a few years and the Mods have always only given enough slack to hang yourself with lolol. Even the trolls usually get at leaste a second chance. I'm really fond of brits in general, and you especially. I also thank you for your comments about WT. I've put a lot of time into expanding this sites areas of discussion and it's membership, so it's good to know that it's appreciated.
I'm an ex-grunt junior NCO, and a loudmouthed philly guy on top of it. I like the raucous irreverant banter as much as anyone. Hell, sometimes i wonder if i let too much of it go on, but i get very few complaints, so i guess i'm doing an OK job of it. As far as the mods, they've all been fantastic, everyone of them. Not a one has abused any of his powers(except in light hearted fun, and then only rarely), or used his position to start flame fests against 'defenseless hoglets', or any of the other nonsense that i see mods engaging in on so many other boards. From top to bottom, posters to mods to the site owner Pete, A-10.org is IMNSHO one of the very finest boards anywhere on the net, and chock full of damned good people.
