After seeing the aftermath of this STORM,
Its hard to imagine the scope of the damage and friends of ours who are involved.
Lets take a moment to say a prayer or silence however you believe
"To send them our best felt hopes and wishes"
For a fast relief from their troubles.

Goose is right, it is time to remember those in this storms path.

I saw a truly great sight today. I was on my way to the doctors office and out on Interstate 20 I saw about 40 line trucks from an electric company in PA heading south. I gave them the thumbs up for God knows when they will be home again and what horrors they may see when they get to their destination?

Amen Goose,

I've just finished watching some poor guy being interviewed who was trying to hold onto his wife's hand to stop her being swept away.

He said she told him to "look after the kids" and then she was gone.

You can't watch that without it getting to you.

God bless the USCG, the Dustoff crews, and all the others headed in to help! The footage of some of the helicopter rooftop rescues is unbelieveable. One of the USCG rescue swimmers was using an axe to get through the roof in order to get people out. Amazing stuff.

Bless 'em all...

<img src=newicons/smiley_salute.gif border=0 align=middle> I just saw some pictures of Biloxi and earlier today caught some video of Gulfport. Just thinking that I was there a year ago and now all of that stuff is gone! It's amazing. Keesler AFB has canceled ALL classes for at least 30 days and they are still holed up in the shelters on base.

I'm sure I'll be getting a phone call from my Mom in Michigan that my dad will be leaving soon. He works for a contracted tree company in Detroit. (Asplundh. Big Orange trucks that you may have seen.)

After seeing the utter devastation caused by Katrina, I took a slow walk around the house today. I tried to imagine what it would be like to lose absolutely everything. I looked at pictures, stuff collected over the years..nothing major but each little piece has a story, all the work I put in to this place, things I built with my own hands, all the renovations. I just don't know how I'd deal with it. Yesterday, I was bitching to myself because I've still got a few things I need to get done before winter. I really didn't feel like doing them because a couple are going to be painful..think I'll get started on them tomorrow..and I'll do it happily because I still have a home and not some pile of rubble. My prayers go out to all those affected.
