Thank you all for what you gave. We owe a debt that we can never repay, the least we can do is remember them.

N.B. Four 81st FS A-10A's flew a missing man formation over Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer.

Spent the D-Day celebrations at a packed Duxford Airshow with sunny and hot weather.

Bacon

Didya hear about the issue over the IWM at Duxford proposing to charge veterans of D-Day £8 each to attend an event commemorating their part in D-Day? Hot topic on PPRuNe, full story off the Beeb at:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cambridgeshire/3769927.stm

Also, hear about the Hurricane that had a slight mishap at Duxford? Details: http://www.flyvintage.com/news/218/

It must have been cool, but crowded. Couldn't get to France myself, went to a Air War Over Hainaut exhibit at a local college.

Cheers! M2

Max, some guys on the Flyer Magazine forum had a collection and managed to raise enough to sponsor the D-Day veterans day out, this shamed the organisers into waiving the admission.
Luckily the Hurricane isnt as badly damaged as first thought, it was a taxying accident.
Shuck, I am near Biggin Hill.

Finally, sorry to the other forum members for deviating from 'Hog Chat'.....having said that, Duxford has its very own Hog 77-259 'flying' in the American Air Museum.....check out my 'doctored' avatar.
