Thanks for the reminder Dice.
I'm sure the 100th Hog was 76-553......I think it lives at SP as a ground trainer, flew in there about 1992 straight from the 'Skulls' at WR.

If they counted the 6 DT&E aircraft then Bacon bits is correct, if they didn't count the DT&E aircraft it would have been 77-0192.

That reminds me, the questionable relationship between military and contractor existed then too. A short time after this ceremony General Dixon became a Vice President at Fairchild. He got a good deal, I'm sure, but it is questionable if he held up his end of the bargain. It was speculated that he was supposed to grease the skids for both the two seat NAW with the USAF, and foreign sales to places like Korea and the UAE. None of it happened. It was also discussed by the employees that since he was once the chief of TAC he had as many enemies in the Pentagon as friends, so his influence was neutralized. Inside the company he was known to be an A-hole because he thought he was a still a General that could order around employees and customers alike.

553 would be close to #100. My jet was 76-0534 and it was in the high 70's for delivery to the AF.
