No problem! I just got back from the 357th and they are all out of patches! I'll check out the 358th later and the bulldogs are deployed so not sure on that one? I'm gonna check Mardons later today or tomorrow and see what leftovers they might have!
I'll do my best but so far I've been striking out!

Thanks HogFixer, I owe ya for looking out for me!

Say 'hi' to Mary and Don for me! I doubt they will remember me, but back in 1994 I called them from Slovakia to get some nametags made for the Slovaks I was working with, and they turned out great! MarDon is a great company!

Cheers! M2

Dice-Man -

Your photos are from the 355th deployment in 1977/78 to Bicycle Lake, Fort Irwin, CA (aka NTC). Lots of sand.

Thanks for posting the photos!

I was at Ft. Erwin in Sept of 94 to investigate the crash of 79-0214. What a s**t-hole. That place was so bad that all I could think of was how happy I was that I was never in the Army.

Rip, thanks for the info. I knew it was Fort Irwin because one of the pictures I didn't post shows the "ops" building with a Fort Irwin sign outside. I wasn't sure of the time frame so you did add some info to the pictures.

Great website Inkjet, I was wondering if you wanted to add a 'links' page for the following pages, for some in-depth background info on Hawgsmoke. Our page on Hawgwash 04 is here:

http://www.sharpshooter-maj.com/html/bv14.htm

Philippe Colin also has some great info and photos on the previous two Hawgsmoke's that'll make you sorry you're not at DM for this one!

http://www.philippecolin.net/Hawgsmoke2.html

I know most of you have probably read the pages above, but just in case anyone hasn't I thought I'd point you in their direction.

Regards,
Kevin Jackson

Those pictures above could of been KFIA 8-90 THRU 10-90 if the Hog was EURO-1.
NTC for us was going to GAFB and those Damn, 0100 work day starts and the "Sleezy 6" motel" and the Hanoi doughnut shop.

Did they use to deploy the Jets to FT Irwin for OP's?

Hey Goose wasnt that the Old Easy 8? I remember going to Choclate Mountian at those ungodly hours to load 82's and we always stopped at that doughnut shop for some coffee and a suger fix before work. Then it was off to Pegasus club after work for some entertainment.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Those pictures could have also been from Texas Lake in the late '70s. Not sure if D-M did that or Myrtle Beach, or both at some point. The jets were still white at that point.

Hey guys. Love the site. Have any of you heard back about getting on DM for Hawgsmoke? I'm a civilian and I was hoping to make the trip out there and get some pictures. I haven't heard anything and I'm trying to decide if I should book airfare or not. Thanks for any help.

Those who want to come take pics of the A-10 are welcome on 23 March. There will be an A-10 Demo and static displays of both the A-10A and the A-10C. Because of force protection conditions, you must be pre-registered to attend. You can go to the Hawgsmoke2006.com website and click on the Registration link. Registration will be shut off 2 weeks prior to the event, so you still have some time.

If you have any more questions, let me know.

Thanks inkjet,
Will it be possible to get pictures of all the different A-10 units that are coming in for Hawgsmoke?
