Does that mean they won't show up at Hawgsmoke this year ?

The link mentiones 15 March starting the move out at New Orleans.

Yes, they will be missed.

Here's one at Hawgsmoke 2004 during crappy weather conditions.

Agree, another bit of Hawg history in the record books. These guys/gals were a class act through-out the years and the N.O. tail code will be missed.

Does this mean we'll see them in the skys of Colorado? I really hope so. I get tired of seeing those Lawn Darts every day.

It is sad to see such a great unit broken up and spread across the country though.

Ice,

I'm in the Springs and get to see Hogs quite often. Can't see the tail letters but I assume they are from Boise or stopping for gas on their way home from the Depot. I keep my digital camera in the car and will sneak some pics whenever they visit Peterson.

The ones that were here this weekend were using the callsign "Swine". Swine88 to be exact. They do gunnery runs here at Ft. Carson like the Vipers out of Buckley. The Buckley birds use "Red Eye", "Snake" and another callsign that escapes me at this moment. We also get visitors out of Hill from time to time. The Freemont MOA gets more active in the Summer and Fall, usually. It's also a rally IP coming off the Springs to get lined up for the Pre-game and kick-off flyovers at Falcon Stadium during home games. Who/whatever will be doing them usually show up on the Thursday before to get orientated.
