Hi there. I am currently a university student at glasgow in scotland. I am doing research on the aerodynamics of the A-10 mainly the wings and tails. does anybody know or have places where i can get my hands on this information.

Well Lad, are you talking about the details of construction, like the shape of the airfoil in cross section, or just some of the dynamics of the effects of all those pylons, fins, skyhooks, wind fences, etc?

You'll probably have to go to Fairchild's web site for details, if there is a website from them these days.

You can find basic drawings and get basic info, i.e. wieght, over all dimensions and that kind of stuff from the AF info site on the A-10, which you've propably already found by now.

As to it's true aerodynamics, I think it was designed based on the aerodynamics of a coconut laiden South African Swallow.<img src=newicons/anim_lol.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=newicons/saevil.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=newicons/spit.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'm sorry man, I just had to do it. Unfortunately, most of us here are maintainer's. We don't design the things, we just keep them flying and fighting. And some of us are ORF's and don't even do that anymore.
