That looks like a "BUZZ THE ARMY" flight., notice it only has
1 TGM and 1 AIM-9 to go with the 2 TERs and the Travel Pod.

Thats still a weird Load? I never saw HOG loaded like that unless they had 2 PODS with NO TGM's. Plus with one POD why didnt they put it on the center line if no EXT TANKS used?

I thought too If a AIM-9 has a "YELLOW STRIPE" it was a REAL ONE?
That one does in the picture.

Now are the blades spinning or standing still?

HogSnort, Thats a good artist's drawing of 80-142. As the first crewchief to work the jet when it arrived at EAFB, I had a big responsibilty to maintain it in a manner reserved for a ''brand new'' aircraft straight from the factory. Between my assistant SRA Jim McGreanor and I,we tried to keep her in the best flying shape as possible. When she was my jet in 1978 she was green, with less than 20 flying hours, maybe less. When I saw her at HogSmoke 04, she was assigned to the Westcoast Demo team, as the Commander's jet, with many, many, many more flying hours, and a Desert Storm vet. Seeing her was like finding an old military buddy, you had not seen in ages. With the grey paint, and the ''Lets Roll''art on the side, it made this ''old''crewchief swell with pride.

Hey RayBoy.....

If my memory serves me correctly.....I'm thinking that 142 belonged to Steve "Tex" Hammock while I was there.
I know I busted a few knuckles on her as well!

I know the "swell" that you mention. Wife and I were in Bloomington Illinois this afternoon and she says....Holy Shit look at that huge old airplane coming across...........So I pull over in a parking lot I was in and a C-130 passes over and she got pissed cause I just laughed at her!

While in the area I happened to see 3 or 4 130's heading out of the local patch.
Saw a few birds sitting static as well......A-4, F-14, A-7, F-4, even a T-33 in the background. There's when you feel emotional, atleast I do knowing that at one time or another, even though Air Force, I was "hands-on" on all those aircraft at one time or another!

And yes Ray......that is a very nice shot of 142!

Hog Snort,

I am almost finished with my static display. I'm waiting on a few more things and have to re-adjust some things. Hogs will always fly in my place. Take a look.

It may not be a drawing, like at the start of the conversation, But it is ART.

Very Nice!

I WANT THE HAT!!!!LOL

Seems I dont remember the squadrons doing alot of the collectible stuff till after I was at my last assingment, or after I had seperated.

Different hats, patches, the coins.....all things I would love to have and hopefully will start to get a few of in the future.
As Goose mentioned before. I wish the days of video cameras had come a little earlier so I'd have some better memories.
I got some pretty good brain cells, and alot of old pictures, but not near as good as the video age makes it.

There are a ton of pictures that I would love to have but werent allowed during those days.

Oops, I made a mistake. I put down that I took on 80-142 in 1978, and it should have been 1981, or late 80.In 78 I was crewing an A-7D with the 75th. Im surprised none of the 75th folks on board didn't catch the mistake. You cant work on a jet two years before it was manufactored. My mistake.

HogSnort, I see you are from Illinois, I'm originally from Ill, up in the North East corner, just West of Waukegan in Lake County. I retired down here at Moody, and just stayed.

Yeah I was gonna ask about the dates you mentioned. I thought that looked wrong, no biggy!

I am originally from Cairo on the very bottom tip of the state. Seperating at Nellis in 88 I stayed there till 04 then made a 2 year stop just outside of Memphis.
I am now in a small farming community of 150 people, Emington Illinois. Its close to Pontiac in Livingston County.

Sorry Hog the hat is not up for bid LOL!!!!!!!!!!

I have had the hat in a box since July 94 so it is mint. Supply gave it to me as I left on my last day.

I took other patches off my FLT bag (I'm also an X FE C-141 Mcguire 30th MAS) and these are from the beach, 354th EMS and Panther SQ.

Each shelf will have 2 pigs, 3 30mm, Hog tusk, and patches from my old assign. I have the desert sand, the skull and other misc items. The skull is now holding a bayonet in his mouth.

I'll post final pics once I get the last item.

I hope you enjoy my ART!

Pete

We had that hat while I was in the 75th, but when we switched to an AMXS, we had to get different ones. I still have my hat like that and preferred it way more than the 23AMXS ones.

Cool hat, I have a Cornet Warrior 3 hat which only the 76th and some of the Higher-ups got a hold of.
Other than that just my RED and Camo AGS hats like the old days .
Heck, I've been, CAMS,OMS,AGS,ABW,TAG and FCS have all the hats.

I've got my own "I LOVE ME " room too,I still have too much stuff for it.
Need bigger room.
