Hello again everyone.

Well, after five years of flying the Hog, I finally have a tail number assigned to me. After speaking with the crew chief and looking at the door art, we were hoping to put some new art on the door. I've actively seeking suggestions, artwork etc. Anyone have any ideas?!? I know there are more than a few here that would love to be involved in creating the next Hog door.

TG, first congrads on getting a jet! Second, what tail number is your aircraft and do you and the CC have any theme in mind?

A couple of ideas I've had in the past, which I have never seen on an A-10 door before is, Thor (God of Thunder). I've seen some nice art with him holding up his hammer and lightning coming from it. Also I've always thought Madussa would make a good theme..you know, so ugly just looking at her will turn a man to stone. I always liked the way she was portrayed (S?) in the movie Jason and the Argonots, half snake, half woman.

Just a couple of quick ideas and I'm sure there will be more. Thanks for allowing us to have imput on your new aircraft's door art!

Something that reflects all those involved with the HAWG, from the early lineage of the designers, The Crew Chiefs, Pilots and Muzzle humpers.

When has a Door Art Focused on the people That have allowed the aircraft to become the legend it has?

Atleast that is my thoughts.

Thor was on a door at woodbridge in 87-90 time frame, cant remember a tail number, but remember seeing it.

TG, are you still at Osan? My jet there was 685, and I had wanted to put my own design on the door so bad, but the one already on it was painted to well for me to able to bring myself to scrape it off. If it didn't have any I would have painted the whole door black, then on the top half put the OB logo, and on the bottom the 25th amu patch and the words "The official drink of the 25th AMU Crew Chiefs." About anything you put on the door will be cool, I mean after all, it's door art! I do remember like half the jets there had a dragon on it in some form, so be unique, and keep us posted.

I think it should be Racegal on the door , scantilly clad of course so we can finally see what she really looks like, straddling a seven barrelled shotgun and it should be captioned "Riding Shotgun"

Thanks for all the responses so far. After the ORI, I'll be discussing lots of ideas with my Crew Chief. JackB, I flew that jet on the first sortie of the ORI. Flew great. And you're right, just about all of them have a dragon on them. It's been well overdone. The scantily clad racegal isn't too bad. Of course, the half that don't have dragons, have scantily clad women, which isn't too bad at all to see on the way up to the pit.

Jbpig, never seen the/a Thor door but will take your word it was one out there. Another thought on the girl theme, maybe you would like to do something like the "Miss Behavin...again" by finding a nice nose art from the Korean war era and updating it with a new female image.

Dice has a got a good idea, I will just add to it. Maybe you could find a good nose art off of a JUG and replace it on your door and dedicate it to the memory of..........

I'm not sure what the tail number was but when i was stationed at Spangdahlem (02-04) there was a hog with Thor on the door. It is a very good idea and I do remember that the Thor door could have been done a lot better, the way that it was done it looked like Thor had only one leg. Good luck and congrats on getting your jet.

You are stationed in Osan? Maybe a suggestion to take a door art what used before as a nose art on B-29 in Korea. A sort of salute to who fight there. Hopely you take a picture of you with the <img src=newicons/icon_hog.gif border=0 align=middle>
