Also, I just talked to friend of mine yesterday on IM about it. She is there doing FP (Hadji duty). When I told her about the piss tubes and port-o-potties, she about died! From what I understand, they have Wi-Fi in the Dorms/Huts (yes, DORMS!), the BX area has greatly improved. I forgot to ask her about the DFAC's and the buildup in Camp Cunningham (if it's even called that anymore) because I got busy here at work. Oh well.

Oh, guess what she asked.

It's still called Cunningham, but no A-10 people are on it, we are in B-huts on what used to be the Korean Camp.

Yeah, there's internet in the B-huts now, I'm using it right now.$35 a month, it's slow, but worth it (no lines to wait on, no time limits, using my computer at my leisure, surfing the net just like I do at home... in my underwear)

The BX area is the same as it was in 2006. It was a trailer in 2002.

Hung around there in Decemberish 2002. We stayed in powerless tents in a gated off Air Force compound next to the old Russian tower. Do they still use that building? It was our ops building at the time. The unheated navy showers were quite fun, as was attempting to do anything past sunset. Taxiing on NVGs was a bit different. I'd have to say the flying was much better than at the \"established\" bases, but I guess Bagram is that way now also.

We never had anything on the ramp except A-10s and AV-8s. Everything else fodded out million dollar engines. The only F-16 I ever saw over there was tail-up in the middle of a minefield off the north end of the runway after an ill-advised high-speed heavyweight long landing. Silly Viper drivers.

I was here for the first time in the summer of 2002, so I know what you saw it like TinyGiant. The tents on the AF compound are gone and there are a few huge 3-story RLB's there now. The Russian tower is only for ops now, not ATC; there is a new one on the other side of the runway. You would never recognize the ramp when comparing what it looked like in 2002 to now.

I'll post some general pics sooner or later, but if anyone wants to see soem good ones to compare this place to what it used to look like, PM me your .mil address.

I still want to Play too! I like \"Tents\" , keep the Barracks and if you don't have to carry \"MOPP\" gear (Gas Masks) all the better.

But I'd have to at least a few \"Grinner s\" to be complete. I can Expedite still.
