Thug I love to read your analogies. They are so, let me think, harsh. I think that is a good word for them, harsh and to the point. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Ah no, that was not the name of the camp. That was the name of something a lot smaller, so you are obviously not all to well informed there Milo.

Subject: “Camp Kick Ass”

Thank you, Hawg 166, for this helpful correction! According to Roy Walton, who created the painting “Camp Kick Ass” either during the force build-up or the main combat phase of OIF, this was a “moral booster” for the 387th AEG´s flightline. According to an related article, published in June 2003 by the “Farmington Valley Post”, at this time Roy Walton was a logistics squadron commander, assigned to the 103rd FW. To collect some more informations, I will contact you via e-mail in the next couple of days.

At first, here is a public link to the possible best “officially stuff” about the 387th AEG (cleared for public by the U.S. military and published by U.S. news media):
http://www.wggb.com/archive/military/award.htm
(Note: If you will print out this document, select only page 1 on your printer software! The other six pages are empty.)

And here is the real “shocker”: Roy Walton´s “moral booster” for the 387th AEG´s flight line:
http://www.roywalton.com/art/art.asp?art=35

Another related artwork from Roy Walton:
http://www.roywalton.com/art/art.asp?art=34
(According to Roy´s website, this was a painting of the “Dark Horsemen” modified to represent the 387th AEG. Roy also stated: “The shield represents the sword of St Michael which the unit used on it´s patch.” Sorry, but I have never seen a 387th AEG patch on the web. I have only seen some versions of 410th AEW patches

Regards
J.J

It's only 6 LRU's Josh. Change the big black box. After you change everything, it's time to swallow your pride and realize that your jet is broke!

Alright Dustin, just wait until you get your shot at working with both LITENING and Sniper on your ramp. You can make your own jugdements then.

Probably won't see it happen in the Guard. Little greys will see Sniper, not likely to see it on the A-10 side. Still not a huge fan of swapping Circuit Card Assemblies on the line either! I'll admit to being a little prejudice after picking away at the LITENING log for three years. I'm anxious to learn Suite 3/PE, but not another LASER video game with no supply assets! Have you seen the ANG avionics manning document for PE OT&E yet? Not pretty. Are you still headed for Korea?
later,

Yea, I'm still headed for Korea. Though I think I have something to add to the 25th and I'm ready to prove that. You and I both have been picking away at LITENING logs for some time now but if nothing changes soon you will really hate LITENING when you see PE. I head your time on A-10's but a shit storm is brewing that we are active trying to avoid here.

Thx again for the advice, I guess PE is broke. My bad.

Hi, Leslie!
Are you still "on deck"? I think no!
You created this topic on July 26. Only one day later you wrote: "Thank You all very much. So is it standard for the hog to carry the LGBs during mission? I haven´t seen any pictures of the hog carring them." O.K. Here is one of the related pictures, announced in my first reply from August 02:

<img src="http://www.af.mil/media/photodb/web/040825-F-9911G-004.jpg" border=0>

GBU-12 Paveway II on station 4 (left wing). Far right the laser seeker of another GBU-12, possible on station 8 (right wing). Location: Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Photo taken on August 25, 2004. The aircraft was from the 355th EFS (355th FS, 354th FW, Eielson AFB, Alaska), which deployed to Bagram Airfield in support of OEF for about six months in 2004 (late March – early October). During the same time a smaller detachment of the 355th EFS was deployed to Kirkuk AB, Iraq, as the last A/OA-10A element deployed during OIF. Photo: USAF

The 355 FS did not do a split deployment.

Hey Kungfu, BTW the way I have seen the maning docs. You guys need to send at least a few more avioincs types just judging on the hundreds of manhours we are pour into it. From the looks of it the gaurd is banking on us picking up the slack. I'll tell ya we're streched pretty thin. Just food for thought.

Sorry for my posted "bullshit" and many thanks to "Coach" and "Type 7" for their corrections!
I´ts right, from late March through early October 2004 the 355th EFS was not splitted and only deployed to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The only one A/OA-10A deployment, which was splitted between Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, and Kirkuk AB, Iraq, taked place with the 354th EFS (354th FS, 355th Wing, Davis Monthan AFB, Arizona) during AEF "Silver".
The reason for this damned "mistake": In my head, I had already often problems with the similar combinations 354th FS / 355th Wing and 355th FS / 354th FW.

Regards
J.J.

P.S.: The posted USAF photo and my GBU-12 notes are both correct.

Here´s another A/OA-10A/GBU-12 picture, and I mean, this is possible the best related shot currently on the web.
This unofficially picture was posted as part of a small series at a-10.org in early 2003. Later, the complete series was "removed". But, all of the photos are currently online, "hidden" on the web server of a-10.org.
This photo shows aircraft "166" of the 131st EFS (assigned to the 187th AEG, part of the 410th AEW) at a "classified" deployed location during OIF. Clearly visible are two GBU-12 Paveway II laser guided bombs on stations 5/7, one Mk 82 "dumb" bomb on station 4, three AGM-65 Mavericks on a triple-rail launcher LAU-88 on station 3 (after Operation Desert Storm this launcher was used in combat again only by the 131st EFS during OIF), and possible another Mk 82 on station 8. Station 2 (also under the left wing) is empty. This photo was taken either during the force build-up or the main combat phase of OIF. The aircraft is serial number 80-0166, deployed from the 131st FS. Another aircraft “"166" was serial number 79-0166, later relocated to AMARC. Note: This Warthog carries individual "door art" and the well known "Let´s Roll" logo, established on some USAF planes after the 9/11 incidents. Photographer unknown.

Hi, Dice-man!
I think this picture was one of some others posted in early 2003 on this so called “open” forum by “Hawg166” (crew chief with the 104th FW). And also I think, this was a Maverick related topic. To find out the originally topic, I must go to the search engine of your website. But (in German „slang“): Darauf hab´ ich null Bock! (You understand?)
On February 26, 2004, “Hawg166” replied to topic “Weapons Loadout”: “…I have some of the LAU88's [He means his pictures, J.J.]. I had them posted here last year but I was kinda forced to have them removed.” It´s O.K. Dice-man? I think you removed the picture links from the originally topics, but all photos are still “hidden” on the web server of a-10.org!

Regards
J.J.

I prepare a new detailed reply to this "top" topic: 23rd FG aircraft "front-line" modified for the Litening pod and GBU-12s at Tallil AB, Iraq. But before I will post this topic with some photos I have one important question related to the following picture: What is the designation of the long pod on station 10 (right wing)? Possible LAU-131?

Gee Billy,
All those MONTHS in the "SANDBOX" you were in the dark!<img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>
I bet you can get the old girl "BPO/PRE " now from home,no need to go to work anymore.

I think I'd quit usmilobserver quoting "News articles and Printed info" These guys know more about what goes on and what went on then has been written.
So I suggest a peaceful retreat.

Before you start giving them the history of the A-10 in Desert storm too,I dont think they could take much more info.

Just a friendly reminder,

Goose

Not to take sides in this matter as I will always stand behind the American Fighting man and Woman.

Lately WT has not provided any substance into the underworld of the A10.. behind the scenes effort. I guess if you guys dont want a foriegner producing or passing along info about the A10's effort and public image, maybe you folks should step up and promote the a10 a little more.

We seem to be running the HAWG folks out the door as this site is not producing any purpose for them to participe. Which is a large reason I myself took some accountability and made a commitment to the other pilots on this board not to raise the bloodpressure on the site. I would love to see more activity. and if ever needed i'll be more than happy to backfolks up here when a foriegn object gets ingested into the forums.

Lately it seems that Only Coach, W30, TYPE7, Dice, Hawg166, SgtGoose, RCScience and M&M contribute to opening discussion or leading on further discussion to HAWG matters.

Thewir are a great number of things that can be discussed that are not technical Orders or Security matters. Things as simple as the romanticism of the job, Flying the jet on a mission, Leadership of a squadron, The life of a Prod Duper, EOR Crew, Maintainer, What happens to jet at Depot... The list is endless. People may want to know what it is like to be a crew Chief, A pilot etc...

Just my honest opinion... My son and I enjor reading all I can about the HAWG.

"The greatest pleasure is to vanquish your enemies, to chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth, to see their near and dear bathed in tears, to ride their horses and sleep on the white bellies of their wives and daughters."
