Guys,

For a little magazine in a region of the Netherlands for and made by spotters/fighterplane freaks, I will write something about the progress of the C version. Number of plane and what the different is between the A and C version, B is the two-seater.
I know there is information about the first (test) A-10c (on the site of Dice-Man). But can I used it and does somebody know where I can find more? Not to technical please, I must all translate from English to Dutch.
Thanks for helping.

There are loads of Warthog pictures in here.

Not sure if any C are there as well.

Dutchy, you can use the info on my site because it's been cleared by the AF/PA office. I can't go into nunbers here but can say all aircraft modifided so far are supporting the test program(s) at Eglin AFB FL. and Nellis AFB NV.

As far as progress goes the test program is progressing and "kit proff" and the frist production A-10C is due this year, can't say much more than that.

What "more" info are you looking for? The info on my site tells you differances in the A-10A and A-10C if you read it closely.

Thanks Dice-man. It is a job to do for translation, but I think it will be worth it. Thanks again.

WOW Dice,
I just checked out your site on the A-10C. I hardly recognize the cockpit! It's really amazing the overall side of the panel. I thought it was crowded in there before, but man.

One question though, if you can answer it, and if not due to security then no worries here, but where is the armament panel in the C? Is it the screen in the upper left now? I ask because I was a loader many years back and that was the only thing we were allowed to touch up there.

Great article BTW.

Ice Pirate, I can answer that...the ACP is gone and it's fuctions have been intergrated into the MFCDs (either one). As they say this will not be your daddy's A-10....

Indeed an impressive site you got Dice !

Well done.

I espcially like the story about the shot up birds in Iraq and how this specific thing haunted this crewchief.

Thanks for the info Dice, good to keep up on these things. I was kind of thinking along those lines when I saw 2 of those screens, and one thing for sure, you wouldn't have to worry about those wee little bulbs burning out in the buttons and having to replace them. That was always a RPITA, especially if you dropped one at night in the cockpit. Yes, I've done that before and needless to say it was well past sun up before I'd found it and got to go home.

Again, Great site.

Speaking of "Dropped" in the cockpit items.........how are the mic buttons now days?
I remember several times I stood on my head looking for that damn ball bearing, praying not to have to call for a seat removal to make life easier!
Worse yet was trying to explain why that cheesey throttle cover was not installed to prohibit that from happening!

I remember a few guys that actually had a "spare" one "Just in case"

Maybe someone can verify this for me: I heard that by way of computer chips in airplanes, that the A-10 has the most advanced or fastest processor of any US muilitary jet, and that it is in the IFFC computer. True or BS?

I can't say for sure because I don't know what's in every aircraft out there but, I can say it's a lot faster than the original IFFC computer. I can also say, having said the above, it's still a decade behind the computer I'm typing this responce on.
