I just put this dummy shell up on eBay for anyone who is interested: item 6612874346. Can anyone here give me a better ID on this shell? Thanks.

How much do you want for it right now?

That would be misrepresentation...

The 30MM Apache may be 30.00MM in Diameter, But its not the same case or length of bullet.

Apache is nearly 60% of the GAu8 30mm Cartridge.

From what I've read so far, at about 11.3 inches long overall it seems to be a very similar size as the cartridges spoken of for the A-10, but I'm not able to find anything on the LGU designation this one carries. So is this a round for the Apache or the A-10? How do I know for sure?

As far as what I want for it right now, I'd rather let the auction run its course.

fahnoe, what Mudd is saying is in your auction you say the round can be used by the A-10 and Apache which is not true because of the reason given by Mudd.

The round you have is an A-10 PGU-15 training round.

I was finding it difficult to reconcile the LGU on this casing with the PGU used by the A-10. In comparing the LGU I have to photos of PGU ammunition, it looked to me like the profile of the PGU round has more of a straight taper while the LGU round's profile is slightly more rounded. I also noted that the PGU rounds had two plastic bands while the LGU round has one.

Anyway, thanks for your input, I've revised the listing to drop references to the Apache.

Try this link...

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/30mm.htm

It shows the difference between the various 30mm rounds.
