+1 At least the weather is going to cooperate! The Second Amendment: America's original homeland security. Ya just can’t take life too seriously, because you aren’t going to get out of it alive anyway. |

Joe, It's incredible. I drove past the base, the ramp is wall-to-wall A-10's. Hope Beef gets some pics of this he can share. They did the missing man flight about an hour ago. I live out East of DM, but they flew right overhead. I'm guessing it was them, timing was about the same as the paper announced. Course, we all know how often the papers get things right. Since then, we've had a 4-ship flight fly over about once every six or seven minutes. Tomorrow's the competition and yeah, the weather should be great. Tuesday was windy as hell, today was darn nice. Forecast is more of the same, higher daytime temps, but that's it. Wish I could have been out there today. |

Sitting here in the Netherlands, far away from the Hawgscene. What do you think? I get an invitation for this Hawgmoke 2006. For a basetour. #%&* I couldn't come. What a shame for me. The idea was to go there with somebody, he is going but his trip was to long and to heavy for me to travel. Salute Dutchy ------------------------ Termites do it in the dark! (47FS Barksdale afb) |

Tom, with the three squadrons of DM A-10s and the ones coming in for Hawgsmoke I bet it does look like Hawg Heaven down there. Like yourself I wish I was there because I know there's going to be some great photo shoots, good food, lots of beer, and a whole mess of Hawg fans there today and tomorrow. Thinking about it this may be the last time you see that many A-10s in one place at the same time. Ugly But Well Hung |

Dice, why do you think this will be the last time to see this many Hogs in one place? Just because its at D-M? No force structure retirements for the Hog, as of now. Some pictures from the arrival ceremony...Hawgsmoke 2006 is underway: http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/ ... 9P-003.jpg http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/ ... 9P-002.JPG http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/ ... 9P-001.JPG Coach |

Coach

Yes Coach because it's being held at DM. Hawgsmoke is normaly held at a remote location so having it at DM is not the norm. It may be held somewhere like Moody, after the 23rd gets there but, I don't think so. So this would make this Hawgsmoke a rare event as far as the number of A-10s in one place because Moody and DM will be the only bases with three squadron "in place" even before Hawgsmoke gets there. I could be wrong... Thanks for the pics! Ugly But Well Hung |
