This IS the hog-up program right?( pods, engines, GPS n such ) Is this still officially going through or have they reversed directions yet again?

A 45 has a muzzle.
A 9mm has a bullet vent.

There are no engines involved with PE. The program is still going along.

Boomer, the “Hog-up” or what is now known as “SLEP1” (Service Life Extension Program) is a structures repairs/improvements which will allow the A-10 to fly until 2028 but doesn’t change the A-10A into an A-10C. PE is an avionics/weapons upgrade which does chance the A-10A into an A-10C. The A-10 can continue to fly with only the SLEP program but, PE can’t fly (not for long anyway) unless the SLEP program is successful.

BTW the GPS mod is (was because it’s complete) is a separate program from both PE and SLEP1 and engines is also separate from all the other programs (funding wise anyway).

The engine proposal is called Propulsion Upgrade Program (PUP) and is on hold.
