What are the A-10's doing at Hill and when did they get those funny looking PODs on station 9

Funny pods on 9 ? Are you talking the Sniper pod or the Litening II pod ? I am not sure if there are any Sniper pods out on the A-10's yet unless they are in the initial stages of fitting them.

Location: Hill AFB UT
Engine Hog, Hill AFB is the A-10 depot following the closure of McClellan AFB CA. in 2002 (BRAC 1998). All major maintenance and mods are done here such as SLEP1 and PE ( http://www.warthogpen.com/a-10c_files/A_10_C.html ). The new pod is either the Litening II or Sniper pod(s) with are part of the PE mod (read above link).
