That was perfect! Because Crewdawg's can understand pictures, not all those "Big Words" Goose They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin, (1706 - 1790) |

Josh, I am not pounding the pavement yet...still got another year at the group to take care of yet, but i did get pulled out of the office twice to go fix write-ups that they couldn't figure out. I also helped throw up an engine so they could get a jet TDY. Thunders OIC got fired last week for protecting the troops and calling a "knock it off". I am telling you things here are getting a little crazy.
quote:
I talked to a friend of mine down at Eglin...he said the 2 C models they have aren't having half the problems that the birds at Nellis are....who knows...

It is nice when you have a team of engineers inbedded with your unit to immediatley diagnose and fix problems on the spot....we don't have that here at Nellis. I do however remember going to Eglin a year ago and fixing 2 severe engine write-ups they had that they couldn't figure out. We ended up fixing the jets for them so they could fly with our test birds. The problem is that the engineers and designers on this project aren't looking at it like a Air Force Maintenance troop. They really need to realize after all is said and done that it is going to fall to the 18 yr old airman straight from tech school to be able to fix the aircraft....not the MIT graduate who has nothing but time to play in a simulator, and then look at us the ground pounder and ask us in their condicending way why it didn't work because it seemed to work fine in the simulator. Alot of "GREAT OFFICERS" got "Differant" Jobs and I dont mean "Promotions". Standing-up for the Troops. They would "Chew your ass-out!" but would back you up when you needed it. Sounds like the C models might be getting some of the bugs worked out as they get more done. prkiii When Eglin "isn't seeing" as many problems what they are really saying is Not Looking. The DT is combined between units and Nellis is taking the brunt of that DT burden. Eglin can't and won't be able to support PE development with 2 jets, Nellis is often feeling out the systems much much more throughly than Eglin has the oppontunity to with their sortie count. Chili, mail me at my mil addy. |
