In-processed to my civil service job all last week, and this week, and I saw a lot of new and young (and some not so young) faces headed to the A-10 side of the base to work PE and SLEP1. I just had to chuckle (to myself) knowing what the electricians have in store for them installing PE. Only one had A-10 experience and that was back in 1978-79 at DM when A-10 first arrived. They all seem motivated and I hope they get the training they need to give the old Hawg it “new lease on life” so many believe PE is/will be.

I invited them all to the forums if they every wanted to visit but, not sure if anyone will take me up on the offer or not. Lets all wish the new guys the best of luck because they are the A-10s future and how they perform will determin what kind of jets you guys get back and the type of systems you will be supporting for the life of the A-10.

Dice I have been on leave for the last two weeks. What is this with you getting a new job? What will you be doing? GS sounds like the way to go these days. I know a couple of guys that lucked into Unit Deployment Manager jobs here at Shaw and are getting GS-9 pay for it.

Suprised me too Fender. What's the deal there Dice-man?
Also, I'll be there next week. Maybe we can finally meet?

Fender and engineguy, I got picked-up by the F-16 crew I've been working with the past 7 months. I'm no longer a contractor but got a WG-10 slot with all the bennies of being cilil service.
I guess I can still turn a wrench with the best of them because days and swings want me on their shift. I may look around later for something else but, I'm happy where I am for right now. You can say what you want about the F-16 but, the F-16 crew (and supervisor) I'm working with now have come through for this A-10 reject (only speaking for the A-10 community here at Hill).

Engineguy, would love to meet ya! I will be back on swings next week (1500-0001) but, maybe we came meet on the weekend for a cold one.

Thanks Fender, I'm proud of this one myself because I did it all on my own...no insider help at all.
