I've "adopted" a soldier to write to and send care packages to. I know he's married and from MN and that's about it. When you men and women were away from home, what most did you want to hear about in the letters that you received?

My biggest fear is making the guy homesick. He's from MN so I can bring up Hockey seeing I work for a company. But was wondering what would be other topics to bring up to a person I don't even know?

Appreciate any comments from the people in the know, I need to get going to get something out to this soldier.
