Dude, that thing ain't no Maverick. Not by a very, very long shot. Take it from a former tank commander, that toy isn't killing a main battle tank anytime soon. It's got its place on the battlefield, but comparing it to a 65 is like comparing a hand grenade to a Mk-82. Keep in mind the 65k's and d's have 125 lbs shaped charge warhead. The complete missile fired from that system weighs 5 lbs. It's cool, and it'll kill bad guys, but a man portable Mav it is not. Mini-Mav, kind of I guess, but one could call a pellet gun a mini-howitzer if one were so inclined.

Detzel,
A little misspeak probably. Of the variants used by USAF, the B-, D-, and H-model Mavs have the 125-lb shaped charge warhead, mostly good on tanks and other vehicles. The G- and K-model Mavs have 300-lb kinetic penetrator warhead, good on buildings, bridges and ships in addition to tanks. G's and K's are muy bueno.

We saw our first ones the opening day of GW1, Man! looked like a
MAV with a NOSE JOB!But then again IR Mav's were far and few between before then in training.

You are correct sir. K is a G with a CCD seeker. Mavericks are wicked weapons.

I've shot a few K's in the sim, but the display in there doesn't differentiate very well between the IIR and the TV, they both look pretty much the same. (Same with B and D)

As for the topic at hand, again I think that new man portable job is a good tool, and will hopefully kill a few hadjis, but for taking out heavy armor there's nothing like a big, heavy guided missile.
