Hello. I wanted to put a request for MMS patches, preferrably in color. EBay has become to expensive and I don't have the time to compete with all the "wolves". I would guess a few of you have been around awhile or worked in the MMS days. Any help will be appreciated. I can only offer to buy. My "need" list is:
1,2,9,10,11,17,30,31,32,38,41,57,58,59,60,73,92,96,388,401,408,413,
456 and 4258. Thank you in advance.

P.S. I hope to in 2007 get a MMS/patch site up and running that will include my A-10 patches from my time at Eielson and the twin bases.

In SAC days, MMS stood for Munitions Squadrons. It's been a long time since I saw that abbrev.

Anything to do with Weapons Squadrons? Do they have their own patches and since when?

The answer came in while I was typing!

Yes, SAC did maintain their MMS units long after TAC, AAC, PACAF & USAFE. My first was the 48th MMS at RAF Lakenheath. My A-10 experience was via the 343rd Composite Wing and the 581st AGS and 81st EMS.

I thought the Munitions Maintenance Squadrons were called MUNS and they took care of the nukes we planned on letting our allies use. The only place I saw those was in Europe back in the Cold War days.

Coach MUNS are ammo only. The old Mickey Mouse Squadrons were a mixture of Ammo and Armament personnel.

I'm pretty sure the 23rd TFW Bomb Dump Folks were MUNS and the Armament Folks (Muzzle F--Ker's) and (Rack Jack-offs)in EMS.
Fender you guys where set-up like us so it has to be Bomb Dump.

I only remembered BMW (Ballistic Missle Wing) as being a Strange
set of letters.

I sense just a wee bit of negativity for us MMS personnel. But no matter how you slice it, without weapons the Air Force would be just another unscheduled airline.

You senses need calibrating. I am weapons myself and there are a few others on here. As a matter of fact I spent time in the 81st EMS myself, many years ago, like over twenty years ago.

Muzzle-F--Ker's and Rack Jack-Offs are terms of Respect for those Folks in Weapons and so is BB stackers, just like "Tire Kickers,Nose Pickers,Wrench Bender " is too.
Those terms are mostly for the "Back-shop" Folks .
The AMU's or whatever their called now APG, SPEC's AND WEAPONS are or Were family .

and all Squadrons had nicknames
AGS ALWAYS GETTIN SHIT or AINT GOT SHIT
EMS EAT MY SHIT or ENORMOUS MASS of SHIT
CRS CANT REPAIR SHIT or COULDNT REPAIR SHIT
MMS MICKEY MOUSE SQUADRON

Its all done in Respect, Now let an CBO PUKE say it and then its
a WAR.

My apologies, I get a bit caught up in the name thing at times. I had read on another forum about a crew chief making stupid references to weapons troops and it just got the better of me. I was one that always assisted the Crew chief or POL or backshop when I could. So I'll try not to be so sensitive in the future. Cheers!

Do you need a 4" color 581st AGS patch, as I have a spare. I can also lay my hands on a 3" color and sub 81st EMS if you need one

Cheers
