Hi, Wondering if anyone has pics of the Mi-8 killing A-10 81-0964 while it served under the 21FS/363FW or 55FS/20FW. I'm mainly after pictures showing the crew names on the nose,so i can draw up some artwork for a model project. kind regards, Gary Pashley |

I believe one of them Col. Bill Swains (chopper Popper) is at the USAFA on a Stick. maybe a Doole can take a pic for ya. Man I have a video I shot on the flightline, at Shaw, in 1994-1995 and it shows 964 during engine start for a mission. Not sure if it shows the crew names, and I would have to dig through the crap in my baement to find it but, I think it does shows the crew names, green kill star, and the ladder door art in one shot. I don't have a video card which can convert the VHS to MPEG but, I may be able to get the crew names if that's what you're looking for. Lets see what Hitler comes-up with and if he can't help I'll see what I can do. Visit my A-10 website at http://www.warthogpen.com |

Well the photo I could find wasn't of much use, but you'll find it below. However, what Dice said about a video got me to thinking... yes I do have some video footage. I don't have a vhs-dvd converter so I hope the pictures will of the video will be ok. The pictures of from Shawfest in 1994 not to long after our transition to the 55th.

Hope it helps Faugh ah Ballaugh -Clear The Way Visit FlightChief Aviation Edited by - Lil Hitler on Nov 23 2006 06:58 |

Hello guys, Thank you all very much for your replies and help. Hopefully now i can finish up the artwork, ready to put in my new Italeri 1/48 A-10 kit. Now...i wonder if the 21FS became the 55FS...would that mean LtC Neubauer was CO for the former also? cheers, Gary in the UK |

Mungo, The 21st did indeed become the 55th. I'm not sure of the exact date but it had to be between Dec 93 and Apr 94 (date of this video). As for Col. Neubs, yes he was the commander prior to and after the transition. Faugh ah Ballaugh -Clear The Way Visit FlightChief Aviation |

I didn't think of thsi earlier, but is that SrA James Melton on the side of the jet the MSgt Melton who was a Section Chief at DM (?-2004) and a Pro Super at Osan (04-05) and then went back to DM? Liberalism is a mental disorder. |
