I've come across a couple of phrases a few times (on doors mostly) and I'm wondering if anyone could shed a little light on them.

1- Natural born killers

2- Death from above

We had a "Death From Above" on 614 back in the middle 90's arounf Deny Flight time. It was a sweet door with a Grim Reaper (just like VF-101) on it. It was nfortunately lost to a pissed off person with a steam jenny during a wash.

"The phrase "natural born killer" was actually used in Truman Capote's nonfiction novel In Cold Blood, allegedly said by Lowell Lee Andrews, who murdered his family and was hanged in the Kansas State Penitentiary; whether Tarantino took the phrase from him or it is coincidental is unclear"

"Death From Above" is the motto of the helicopter of Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore played by Robert Duvall in Apocalypse Now

Not what you are looking for, but interesting nonetheless...

Cheers! M2

Never say lost Hawg166...

This is one of the doors which raised the question in my mind to start with.

M2, not quite what I was looking for but, like you said, interesting anyway.

There is a Sweet pic at the Benning Paraloft (Ranger Area) that has a SF Trooper with a Clamore mine Strapped to his Helmet in Free Fall. Next to that picture is a Large wood painting from WW2 days that shows the 82nd Airborne Doing a Airdrop.

It was titled "Death From above" The subculture moto of the 82nd Airborne

Its what happens when you Gravity propel Grunts, that should be taking long walks in the woods instead of Opening on impact...over a combat Zone.
