One of the last two A-10s that are being moded in the hangar where I work moved-our Friday. When the last one moves no more will be moved in, their space will be taken over by C-130s. It was nice to have them in the same hangar because I could keep-up on what was going on but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

O'well I sent in my request to shot the ladder doors to the PA office Friday and hopefuly they will allow me to do so...but you never know with depot.

Wow Dice, that hanger has just about housed everything on that base. I can remember when the 6514th worked out of it. So are the hogs getting a new facility there?

One of these days I need to get out that way, I have my ID card to get on base and then see if one of you guys can show us around.
The biggest reason is so I can Shake your hands :D , than go out east to visit Billy and Snipe.

Thats my new dream.

Yes that would be one of the doors from Osan. So you are at Osan, I've been looking for a new contact there after my old contact (jackb) left for Eielson. I have pictures of all the door art from Osan in 2005....know if there are any new ones? I could send you small images (so the email will fit them all in) of what I have so you can check for me.

Sorry if I'm being forward but, you will learn quickly door art is my passion and I will jump at the chance to get any new ones. [bounce]

Thanks Guys,

Thats one of my goals, Billy's area and out you Guys way.
CJ lived in Maryland for 4 yrs in the 70's working, but really didnt do anything,I'm not going to DC for anything unless its to speak at a Hearing.

Other than that, she's never been anywhere else, plus never seen an A-10 fly.
I told her it was Great out Bostons way and out west you have to see it to believe it.

So thats one of my goals.

Goose, just give me a heads-up before you come and I'll make sure you see all the A-10s you can handle.

Hawgstruck, I just remembered a thread I started on this door a week or so ago. Maybe you could help me out by asking the pilot or CC if they may know how this other jet got almost the same door. BTW the jet was stationed at New Orleans before it closed and as far as I know the art is still on the door at Barksdale, here's the thread.....

Dice,
I'm not sure there will be any new door art at Osan. I just got back a few months ago, and they had waivered all the existing door art, and were not allowing new door art.. I know a couple crew chiefs who made attempts, but the only \"new\" stuff I saw was zaps on a couple doors. Hopefully Hawgstruck can get a good look for you.

They tried that with \"waivers\" when I was there. Every jet that had had art on it had to have a copy of the letter in the forms. That's exactly why I didn't ask anybody for permission when I did my door at Eielson. Well, I asked the Pro-Super for permission to put the cann jet's door on it temporarily. That's it.

Not quite true. When did the waiver occur? A few new doors have been added in the last few months. I'll try to get you pictures. Unfortunately, like others who have asked for Osan info, I may be a little slow in getting you what you want (STS)...things are extremely busy here right now. Standby for more info.

Not a problem on the timetable Hawgstruck, just wanted to "put a bug in your ear". I'll send you an email this weekend with thumbnail pictures of all the Osan Art I have so you will not wast time shooting the same doors.

Don't worry about that, I have a powerpoint file that has all the current doors...minus the most recent ones. i'll just update that powerpoint and send it along.
