When I was at Woody we did that to a guy using the \"Lightall on\" scheme. When he said it and theyguy inside turned it on, the poor guy looked all around with a big smile on his face and said \"thats the damdist thing i'd ever seen\". Also, the cops used to use the push start light all on night shift with the newbie cops there as well. JB |

We used to do echo checks to the new guys on the F-16. They would have to crawl up in the intake to do it and while they where screaming their ass off everyone would come around and start laughing when they crawled out, their look on their face after finding out they had been had was priceless. Almost as funny as sending a guy after a can of K-9P petroleum lubricant, a yard of flight-line, or the keys for the aircraft. |

The air intake echo cavity check was very common to new 3 levels at Moody when I was the F-16 ramp 93-97. One kid would yell down the intake and another would listen at the exhaust end. I always heard about \"light all on\" command with old style light alls, but never had the chance to witness it first hand. If they fell for the bottle of K-9P, roll of flightline, keys to the jet, we usually got them to blow into the pitot probe for the pitot-static blow check. My favorite was three level safety day. We used to make new troops on swings wear the orange reflective EOR vests on Friday nights. kungfu |

Are they wearing uniforms?  Looks like the guy back yonder is wearing shorts.
I always thought it would be fun, if told to go get a yard of flightline, to go over to CE and get one of those prefabricated peices of concrete they put together to make stuff. Bring one back in the pickup or whatever, take a look at thier faces when someone actually does it. |

Reminds me of the urban myth of a newbie being given a 10-amp fuse and being told to take it to the machine shop and have them cut it into two 5-amp fuses. Said newbie then disappears for several hours and later returns with two 5-amp fuses. Don't know if it is true or not, but it makes for a good war story... Cheers! M2 |
