I've run into trouble modeling the wings of the A-10. I don't really understand the shape of all the flaps on the edges of the wings. I can't make out whether they hinge or slide through some kind of rails either, especially the rear flaps closest to the hull behave inconsistently for something that is attached with a hinge. Also, there appears to be a protrusion in the hull where the wings are attached, masked by 2 downward pointing plates attached near the wing. That's also a price worthy close up I'm hunting for. So, before I can get myself out of this mess I need to find some close ups of the A-10's wing edges so that I can clearly make out the shape of every flap and the way its attached. If none of you have any I'll try to find myself the highest possible quality model though. |

The flaps don't hinge down, they roll up and down on tracks. Expect an email in about 12 hours. |

I don't have any flap close ups, but some of these may help in other areas. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/thelastra ... /my_photos --Raven |

Yes that is helpful. I just noticed that halfway down the hull, the underside is flat... and that is not what my cross section drawing was telling me. Seems I need to redo the entire hull. With all those visible open doors the photos show I can derive some information about cross sections... |

The \"belly\" is not ENTIRELY flat, but it is definitely less rounded. I wish I could give better specifics, but don't have any handy. --Raven |
