I was building my gun muzzle art section today and notice I'm missing some of the art in high rez. jackb do you have \"The Punisher\", \"Lady liberty\", and \"POW/MIA\" in high rez? For those who have never seen this art here’s a couple of shots, it's way cool….

No, these were all taken in Jan/Feb 2006, some in Al Udeid and some in Bagram when we were swapping over with the Bulldogs. |

jackb, How are the gun muzzles painted? I've never seen any like that before and am interested in possibly starting it up at my fix. Let me in on the secret. |

The Bulldogs' muzzles weren't painted. They were laser-etched. When 187 was in phase in Bagram and the muzzle was off, someone from backshop, I think it was egress actually, painted the muzzle. The DCC was ticked off, and rightfully so in my opinion, for two reasons. 1- it was his jet, not theirs, and he wasn't asked, and 2- the design they painted had already been done. No doubt that person had seen the Bulldog jet and just did it over. I cant remember if it was removed or wore off very quickly, but I don't remember seeing it on the jet for more than a week or so.
Last year we got a laser etching machine in support. They got it at the end of the fiscal year, had leftover $ in the budget and it had to be spent. The thing cost $41,000. You know what we etch with it? Nothing for work. Here's a pic of my wallet (it looks better in person)
