Ok...so anyone who isn't smart enough would think by the headline that the 75th is getting brand new A-10s...here is the actual story from USAF Aim Points....

New A-10s by year's end for Thunderbolt squad

The first operational active-duty A-10C Thunderbolt squadron should have all its upgraded Warthogs on hand by the end of the year, according to Lt. Col. Ralph Hansen, Air Combat Command’s director of requirements for the A-10.

Getting the improved A-10s is the 75th Fighter Squadron, Hansen said. The 75th is also in the process of moving operations from Pope Air Force Base, N.C., to Moody Air Force Base, Ga.

Two Air National Guard wings, the 175th Wing in Maryland and Michigan’s 110th Fighter Wing, have already completed the transition to the upgraded version of the A-10.

So far, 47 A-10s have been converted to the C-configuration, said Col. James Ratti, A-10 system program manager at Ogden Air Logistics Center in Utah.

Another sign of the A-10C becoming a mainstay of the Air Force is going on at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., where the first A-10C Weapons School course is underway and expecting to graduate its first class in June.

The upgrade to a C-model allows an A-10 to carry satellite-guided bombs such as the Joint Direct Attack Munitions and improves cockpit avionics with digital displays and computer screens. The Air Force intends to convert all 356 of its A-10s to the C-model configuration.

Thanks for the news prkiii
For some reason I had it in my head that the active sq at DM would have gotten the C-mods. I recently spent a nice Sat. afternoon with the 104th FS at B'more. (ok it was cloudy as hell but I was shootin' jets and getting paid.) Hopefully those of you that get Code One regularly will see the work soon. The cockpit looks great and that desktop trainer... I want that for the den!

Promise to post a couple pics as soon as I dump stuff into a 'photo bucket'

well that seemed to work.
Unfortunately the PA folks were not successful in getting the blue sky we ordered. But when it it's time to shoot, it's time to shoot.

Seems to me the only way to tell a C-model from the outside is what she's got hanging from the wings? Or am I missing something?

Pretty much.

You can tell from the bottom of the pylons but, that's not an area posted much because it doesn't have that WOW factor. You can also tell by the glare-shield if you get the right angle because, it doesn't extend down past the two CMFDs on each side, it loooks kinda "Cut-off" and not complete.

Thanks Dice, The new Code One that I just got has some interesting Lockheed product cockpits in it. Should be the next (ie. summer) issue. I'll let you know when it's up and when I get a couple of my own pages up on the personal website.

Till then. ...
