Transformers. July 4th, 2007. I'm just pissed Bumblebee is a Camero. Apparently VW wouldn't give the rights to use the Beetle so they went with a 1974 & 2008-2009 Camero for Bumblebee. Oh well. |

Transformers weren't really in the US when I was in Japan in the early 80's and with a 3to1 exchange rate I brought my 2 younger brothers a case each of 24 transformers. They didn't know they changed until My Dad was looking at one thought it was broke and got it to Transform, After that I was \"Their Best Big Brother\" Well I'm their Only Big Brother I use to watch the Cartoon but I'll wait until I can rent it. i took my g/f to see Shrek 3 (sad, i know) and on the way there, i told her no good previews were gonna be shown since its a childs movie, but 2 seconds into the preview i knew it was Transformers and i was as happy as a pig in mud. when i saw the A-10, i pepped out: \"A-10!!!!!!\" and i just know my g/f was rolling her eyes at me. Edit: on the VW comment. this movie will give the new Camaro some press, which would be good for GM, but from what i heard, the body sits on a Roush Mustang Chassis. |

The studio's from California came to barnes late last year and spent a few days on the flightline getting real life audio for the movie. They took it of the jets, fire trucks, regular vehicles, you name it. They said they like using real audio from the jets better than synthesized sounds. They also paid for a week up at Fort Drum so that we could do live drops. They wanted the real audio for that also. I think that was the same week that we only got about five sorties off the ground because of the snow and extreme cold up at Drumm. |

I'm so pumped for this movie. This and GI JOE were all I grew up on, and with little brothers, they stayed in the family for a long time! Sure they aren't the exact copies of the cartoon box figures we used to know and love, but still....this movie should kick some serious butt at the box office, at least I hope! Interesting article here about the US military involvement with the film: http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123021221 |
