Anyone know who's Hawgs are in the movie? The two clips I've seen with them are from the ground and poor quality. |

Wikipedia is your friend... Quote: A pre-shoot took place on April 19, 2006, before principal photography began on April 22 at Holloman Air Force Base. Shooting was scheduled to last 83 days. The Holloman based shoot also included White Sands Missile Range. The U.S. military also heavily collaborated with Bay, supplying vehicles and jets for the film, and such co-operation led Transformers to be the first film shot at The Pentagon since the September 11, 2001 attacks. Military installations used in the movie included also Kirtland Air Force Base and Edwards Air Force Base. Two Bell Boeing CV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft (of only three in the United States Air Force inventory) were filmed in flight on May 26. The film also shows F-117’s, C-130 cargo planes and the C-17.
On June 9, filming was onsite at the Hoover Dam, making them the first film crew to shoot there since 9/11. The crew then based themselves at Hughes Aircraft in Playa Vista, including six weeks of filming the climactic battle in Los Angeles. Production wrapped on September 24, although second unit shooting continued in the Arctic and Detroit, where it finally finished on October 5. Cheers! M2 |

Actually you are all right. There were multiple units involved in the filming and the collection of real audio instead of digitized. The studio wanted to use the sounds of real cannon fire, real rockets, and real live munitions going off. The A-10's used in the pictures I believe but am not sure, were the Flying Tigers. But in January we wwent to Fort Drum for a week (on Hollywoods full tab of course) and did the audio part on the range and on the ramp. http://www.masslive.com/republican/stor ... xml&coll=1 It was pretty cool, but was still kind of hush hush at the time. I dont know like I said which other units were involved but I think the Tigers were part of it. |

Like there is actually any "other" type of A-10? F;ying Tigers and the Lovely Grin are the Only Way to Go! OK So maybe I am a bit bias as having been a Tiger in the 75th for 3 yrs! |

Saw the movie yesterday. It's the Pope A-10s. They call them in for an attack on a 'decepticon' transformer, they show them for about a minute total. To the target, roll in on the target, some close ups of the gun firing, and then afterwards checking the area. Neat little scene. And man, was there A LOT of military hardware in the movie. Being a huge fan since I was a kid, it was awesome to see them come to life on the big screen. I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10. Actually liked the beginning more than the end, with the big battle. |

I give it a 9.9 out of 10. (I don't think a 10/10 exists) It was as good as 300 IMO. |
