OMFG, GREATEST MOVIE OF THE SUMMER
This movie rocked so hard it is unbelievable. Great actors (Shia Lebuef [sp?], the girl- SMOKIN hot, John Turturro...) AMAZING CGI, great plot and all the Transformers - Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream, Megatron...

I could not be happier. Best $8 I've spent this summer.

This is a MUST SEE movie. Don't wait for the DVD. If you haven't seen it yet, go now, you can thank me later.

Oh, and the scene with the A-10s??? We were losing our minds screaming when it happened. it was indescribable, and that part alone was worth the price of admission. For gods sake, the teeth, the gun, you could even read the tail numbers!.

There is a Predator in the movie too for a minute, you will roll your eyes, but it's all still cool.

I've seen it twice already...once yesterday and tonight with some friends...great movie and yes, my friends were making fun of me cause I was just as excited when they called in the A-10s as I was when Prime first showed up....GREAT movie and can't wait for the sequels!!!!

YEah guys, I have to agree with you, it was fan-freaking-tastic. I was so impressed with all the military hardware....from the Hogs, to the F-22s, to the Ospreys, C-17s, Predator, Blackhawk, MH-53, the list goes on....Heck they even had the F-117 just parked there in one shot. I actually laughed a lot too, which I wasn't expecting. The scenes with Bumblebee using the songs to help Sam get the girl is classic!!! \"Baby come back....!!\" I've seen it twice, and I can't wait till I can own it!!

+1 on that, LOL. I thought one of the funniest parts was when Barricade (which btw did you notice what was written on the side of the \"cop\" car... to punish and enslave...lol) had Sam on the hood of the car screaming \"ARE YOU LADIESMAN217?!?!?!\"

And I just realized (oops) that I put this on Hog Chat, it should be in General Chat. I was thinking A-10s when I started it, b/c of their scene in the movie, but that is a separate thread, also here in Hog Chat.
If a mod wants to move it....

Both parts had me rolling....and when Sam is looking for the glasses and his parents come in...."you can call it Sam's happy time"....

The movie was like one big Air Force commercial....I think I'll end up seeing it at least one more time in the theaters when I go to visit family in a few weeks and will be buying this moving on Blu-ray when it is finally released....

is this movie too much for a 6 yr old? I'd love to bring my oldest but my wife says no way because it's PG-13.

what are your thoughts and thanks!

Hmm, 6? IDK. Someone with kids could answer better for sure, but I would think 65%yes/35%no.
It's kinda loud and actiony in alot of scenes, which I guess could scare a little kid.
The only \"objectionable\" scene, which really isnt that bad b/c a 6y/o wouldn't get it is when the stars mom is questioning him why he's actign so suspicious and asks him is he was whacking off (but she says masturbating, not whacking off, which was hi-goddamned-larious).
There is one scene when they are really showing off Megan Fox's stomach (smoking hot), but a kid wouldn't think twice about it. He'd be afraid of cooties or whatever.

is that the spot where the hoods up on the car and the kid checking her out? I saw a trailer of that.

My kids watch Jurassic Park and after seeing the Making of it aren't afraid, I would hope JP is more scarey than transformers?

thanks for your insight, I'll see what others think as well.

If they can handle Jurassic Park, then Transformers will be OK.
Someone with kids needs to chime in, I don't really know how 6y/o's behave, to me, kids are kids are kids.

I guess it's a great movie, but it seems to me that our culture now totally accepts curse words and other things like that in \"Kids\" movies. The PG-13 rating definitely tells us that even Hollywood accepts that it's not for children. Of course, Hollywood also knows that G movies don't bring in the bucks like PG-13 and R rated movies do. I will definitely not be taking my kids to see it for this very reason. No offense for those of you that have and will, but my kids have never heard a curse word from my mouth and by taking them to movies that have them I voice approval of it by my actions.

From family.org's review:

\"Transformers contains an unexpectedly high volume of vulgarities, boasting about 10 s-words and four or more uses each of the words \"h---,\" \"a--\" and \"d--n.\" \"M-----f---er\" is cut off in mid shout twice. The insult \"b--ch\" shows up once. There are crude references to urination. And an older woman flips her middle finger to her adult son.

God's name is twice combined with \"d--n.\" \"Oh my god\" is exclaimed about a dozen times. \"

\"A conversation between Sam and his parents revolves around whether or not he's been masturbating in his room. Sam does have pictures of bikini-clad models on his bedroom wall. And he confesses to having a Busty Beauties magazine under his bed.

A number of girls are dressed in bikinis at a party. Several women (including Mikaela) wear low-cut tops and show cleavage. As Mikaela leans over to look at a car engine, Sam (and the camera) takes a long, close look at her exposed stomach and back. He tricks her into sitting on his lap. And they're shown cuddling on the hood of his car. No surprise, then, that when one of the Autobots scans Sam it reports, \"The boy's pheromone levels indicate that he wants to mate with the female.\"

While Sam fights with a small robot, it rips off his pants. Sam and Mikaela force an agent to strip down to his boxers and then handcuff him to a post. Soldiers shower. (Bare torsos are seen.) And Mikaela laments, \"I've got a weakness for hot guys with tight abs and big arms.\" References are made to \"hot\" criminals, chagrined virgins and \"hos.\" When Sam mixes up a sentence, the word \"ride\" takes on a sexual connotation.\"

\"Should we really be OK with Hollywood injecting that kind of vulgarity into a movie about kids' toys coming to life? Does God's name have to be abused just because tin cans are suddenly taking on CGI airs?

From wide-eyed innocence to inoculated crassness. That's a path that's being trod by just about everything in our culture. From Britney Spears to cartoons on TV to tots' toys. And no matter how many classic Autobots start popping up on eBay in the wake of this latest big-screen salvo, not even the rose-colored glasses worn by my sentimental side can, um, transform such a significant problem.\"

Sounds a little extreme to me. Transformers isn't exactly American History X.

I guess if you're fine with a six year old being exposed to what I described earlier, then that's a personal decision. The topic of the movie, CGI Transformers or American History, is irrelevent. Sure, it's for entertainment, but the viewing public needs to know what to expect before they take their kids to see it. Is it on par with any other movie out there from an \"offensive content\" point of view? Sure, probably a lot LESS offensive, but that doesn't make it wholesome. Like I said before, I can't justify supporting it, A-10's or not...

we just saw it today and he loved it. The cuss words weren't that big of a deal and he didn't catch or know the \"tossing one off\" talk from Mom.

For a 2.5 hr movie, it when by fast!
