Guess you'll have to change the ANG nose art from the duck holding a gun to a silver salver. |

Thanks for the sympathy! I am transferring to Selfridge though. I can't hand over my jet to a stranger! The tanks were empty. We just had to ferry them. |

Today i read a very little article about the BRAC update in Combat Aircraft. It was about Selfridge. I know not importend to know, but maybe nice for those who want to buy that magazine. And it is a little bit A-10 history. |

Hey, I was there when the \"TWA\" Competition happened in 82-83. Lear vs Cessna (The other Thing ???? Prop Job was Crap) We in Maintenance picked the Cessna Citation over the Lear Hands Down and so did the Pilots. Easier to work on,more Room, carried more even Quieter and CHEAPER. So the USAF goes with the \"Lear Jet\", Sucked for the Maintenance Folks,Pilots have \"Neck Injuries tilting their heads to fly the Damn Thing\", as far as space (What space)??? Then it wasn't as Quieter than the Citation . But Lear gets a \"Plush $$$$$$$$$$$$ Deal including Parts, Lears own \"People etc..\" Putting 500+ GI's out of their Career Field unless you were a \"Golden Golf bag Carrier\" The BIGGEST MISTAKE IN THE USAF in MAC as far as \"Trainers\" and Light Cargo Mission \" the Lear to replace the Sabreliner I still got 18 more months on T-39's (CT & my ET-39) at Yokota. Which was a Good thing , I guess the USAF had to condition me to a \"Camouflaged Jet\" due to my need to inhale \"Chrome Polish and Turtle Wax\". So \"I FEEL FOR YOU BRO\". (They could of atleast given you a Gulf Stream with a \"FCS\" Job .) But you'll beable to \"Pack 4 sets of Golf Clubs, 6 suitcases, MORE STARS then the Sky! plus their Wifes and serve Coffee without spilling it on them in bumpy weather. Good Luck Goose |

Hang in there Guys, I'd be willing to bet that they end up \"Re-BRACing\" all over again and move everything back again. Politicians are going for \"Pay -back\" for what happened to them in the last BRAC. Call Uncle Teddy up and tell him\" Hey Snoopy wants to go Home!!\" Goose |

Billy I spent my first years as a 43152Z (T-39/C-140/C-9/C-12/C-21and X-Crossed trained into UH1-N's(Helo's) and anything that fell in between out of the Sky with \"STARS\" on someones Shoulders. I only had to work on them for 4 months, until the C-21 (lear) guys got their Crap together in Japan, and the \"Green Lizard \" was gone. I can PR/BPO, Service, do minor fixes, change a tire ,tow it. When I got out I was qualified on 9 So I guess I was a Jack of all trades from the \"Old Days\" when you were a Crew Chief, If it had Wings,it flew you could fix it. Worry about paperwork later. Here you go, the first Operational C-21A Yokota AB Japan 1/85 the end of CT-39A
Then they gave us a photo and a \"Sticker\"
So I guess I got the better of the Deal, they phased me off of Golf Club duty, to Warthog Duty. Man I Feel your Pain, I'd would of gone back to FCS Duty if I had to leave the A-10 but not TWA again.(But NO I got Trash Hauler Duty) That's Yokota Base Op's, our Hangar is on the other side, The CINPAC was still flying in his T-39A while the Crews \"CERT\". In the first picture in the upper right corner you can see one of our Radar CT-39 birds and a C-9A Nightingale Med VAC from Clark AFB PI. They were our responsibility too . Everyone of us station at Yokota Base Flt either came from Scott AFB, Germany, Andrews or their first base was Yokota, Okinawa or Clark. That way you had worked on the C-9, CT-39 and C-12 and a few had of us had worked with the AFCC FCS with the ET-39 or C-140A's Goose |
