Most of the A-10 models I've seen have been 223. The reason is they are all based off the 23rd Fighter Wing commanders jet, 80-0223. Althought most of which I've seen Have had the tail # 79-0223, which is another 23rd jet. Has to do, mostly, with the Tiger teeth. |

RC-Hog that tail number is bogas because the first A-10s (Two YA-10s) were not built until 1971 and production A-10s from 1975-1982 (not counting the 6 pre-production in 1973). There was a 77-0223 but she crashed in 1988. There are two more 223s but you would have to change the marking to the 23rd FG Pope AFB NC. for your model to be 100% right. Also if you want the tail to be correct the flash will need to be black and white checker board, seeing as how both acft belong to the 75th FS. and the MD will need to be a FT (Flying Tigers). And you could pick between 79 or 80 for the year. There are several pictures of Flying Tiger acft posted on this site if you want a visual for the patches. |

Thanks guys, I just wanted to know. i'm not going to change anything. It's odd that they would give it that number and no teeth. This plane is realy just a hunk of styrofoam that I haven't gotten airborne yet. I do however plan to get a bigger gas powered one latter and possaby give it the "deamon jet" treatmet. Again, thanks for your help. |

well if you wanted to build a model of 80-223 you would have to have a split stab cap with the 74ths blue and while lightning bolt and the 75ths chekerboard and also the muzzle would have to be chrome seeing as how it is a demo jet PETER A. MULLER |
