I can say this...no one has ever used this spoon to eat with...I got it for my mom when my dad was stationed at RAF Mildenhall at the yearly airshow...I always thought it ironic because it was long before I ever wanted to work the hog...

When was the Airshow. If it was 82-85 I was there too.

Speaking of airshows, are there any in the NY area during July/early August? Are there any interesting airplane museums aside from the USS Intrepid?

Nope, wasn't 82-85...I was living at Mather AFB until summer of 82, the my dad did 4 years as a recruiter in Buffalo New York (was also only 6 to 9 years old)...I we lived at Mildenhall from 90-93...

I always liked the hog when I was younger, but I loved all airplanes (being an Air Force Brat but when I was older and we lived in Plattsburg AFB we use to drive through the mountains to visit family in Buffalo and we would always see Hogs flying around the mountains...I remember one time we went over the crest of a hill and there were 2 A-10s coming right at us, I was about 12 years old and thought it was the coolest thing..from then on I loved them...when I joined the Air Force I couldn't pick a specific airframe, but went with "Tactical Aircraft" I just lucked out with actually being able to work the old girl...I have to say, as much as being a crew dogg sucked, it was the best job I've had...nothing like working 12 hours the day before on her and have her fly the next day coming back Code I after every flight ...I've been a depot mechanic on F-15s, a F-15 Quality Specialist and now an in Quality "Compliance" section and it sure isn't as fun as the "old" days (Go ahead Dice, laugh I know the old days was only 5 years ago for me..lol) But I have done well for myself, a 26 (almost 27) year old GS-9 (soon to be GS-11) ain't bad....To all the hog maintainers (even pointy heads and weapon pukes ) and drivers...I envy ya'll...This (Warthog Territory) & Dices Site (Hogpen) are my only links to the old girl now...

Hey bigross there is a an airshow at Barnes ANGB in Westfield Mass on 16-17 August. We are in Western Mass and only 35 miles from the eastern border of New York. I dont know where in NY you are. Its gonna be a good one this year. Great statics, warbirds, flyers, etc. The Blue Angels are the demo team this year.

I'm gonna be in the Queens area, but anywhere in NY works. Shame about the airshow on the 16-17, cause it looks like I'm leaving on the 12.
