I was wandering if any of you know the requirements to be a USAF pilot.

I never graduated, but the guy I talked too said I had to get my GED and get awesome scores, join the ROTC and also do a superb job.

By the way, if you ever want to fly the A-10, get rid of that 'BUFFB52' screen name. BUFF boys playing CAS is like porking your sister, it feels good but it's just not right.

What if your sister is really hot though? What if she's your half sister? What if she's someone elses sister? What if she's your brothers sister?

One banjo or two? Would they be dueling banjoes? Maybe it's bazooki's. Gotta love them hormone's though. Only thing I can't understand is why they decided to get started in Utah of all places...

I think in Utah you have the right to excercise your hormones on more than one of your sisters.

AIR2MUD, I was told that 90% of the pilot slots got to the academy punks; is that true?

Well, that's not a very nice way to put it. And only 50% of the pilots in my class were "punks."

Then the rest had to be ROTC, cause noone from OTS has a chance, so I've heard.
And then again that could just be your class-I wonder if it speaks accurately for the whole student pilot class?

Here's my class:

20 USAFA
2 Guard/Reserve
10 ROTC
3 OTS

Post subject:

3 OTS? No Kidding!!??
Hmmm.
Maybe I again should seek this out!!??

Post subject:

I was OTS. Graduated #68/72. Put in entirely too much effort.

Author: Type 7 [ 10 Aug 2003, 01:40 ]
Post subject:

To add to this: OTS is only lower than the Academy and ROTC because it's the most flexible of the commissioning sources. Meaning that, according to USAF needs at the time, they can open or close the "valve" of officers as necessary much easier than they can with the other sources. In the early 90s, almost no one was coming out of OTS, in the late 90s and early 00s, there's been some of the largest classes seen to date.

Post subject:

sorry if im about to offend anyone but OTS officers make the best officers.....they have better leadership skills and real life military life expierences, they know what its like to be a private or airman and have to mop up shit and take orders theyve been at the bottom of the food chain. i never respected those young 20 year old butter bars trying to lead a platoon up a mountain side to take out sum rag heads and have them freaking out and not knowing what to do.... just my .02cents.

Author: poke [ 10 Aug 2003, 16:33 ]
Post subject:

And my .02: Yes, the OTS guy in my class that was prior does a good job, but the other, who was NOT prior is a little b* with absolutely no concept of duty, teamwork, or service before self. Among the USAFA priors that I knew, they were by and large a big step ahead of the rest of us, and the ROTc prior guy in my class now is SH. To sum, it's the prior service, not the comissioning source.

As an aside, I thought most, if not all, OTS guys knew what their AFPc was going to be before they even entered? That's the impression I got.

Do we really want to open this can?

Author: poke [ 10 Aug 2003, 16:59 ]
Post subject:

Not really. Let's not. But I DO think that the guys who were prior enlisted had a leg up on the rest of us yahoos straight out of high school. If nothing else, they were usually a couple years older and more mature than the rest of us. ANY commissioning source will produce what you put into it. There is no universal "better" commissioning source.

TinyGiant- the voice of reason.

Personally, i thought 75% of officers were idiots, but i admit to being biased. There are a lot of idiots with command authority though.

I worked for a few of them.
