Was searching through eBay for A-10 stuff (as I do pretty much all the time). I ran across this one. He's selling standard operations publications on CD-ROM. He's selling pubs which he claims are current, but which are actually outdated. The odd thing is, anyone with an internet connection can download these same pubs absolutely free in PDF format (same as his) from www.af.mil. And they're current. Yeah, seems to be pawning them off as Dash-1s, yet the description comes off as AFIs the squadron training department uses! |

Nothing he has on those CDs is against regulations. Giving out -1s is against regs, but he's only selling outdated gov't regs that are available to the general public anyway. If the gov't doesn't want you to get it, they will limit access via either the .mil/.gov suffix or put it only on the SIPRNet. I wish I could give away the A-10 -1s. I've got 3 here that I have to take back to work to get destroyed. |
