Yes, most important thing is that the Pilot is OK. I hear he was discharged from the hospital within hours. Damn the luck of losing another HAWG.

it may have been pilot error, cos i;ve heard the a-10 is known for reliability, but then again it may have been a freak mech faliure

I don't think anyone here can say what the cause was so lets just wait...why say it's pilot error or mechanics error when we don't know? I don't know about ya'll...but I would much rather have it be because of equipment failure than either of the above two...
