When we were over in the desert for OIF, there was an F-16 squadron at Jaber with us. There were two extremely talented (musically, anyway ) Viper Drivers who wrote and performed a myriad of songs about being a figher pilot. These are excellent songs. They were so liked that the pair went to a studio upon return to the States a had the songs professionally recorded. The CD is out and is being offered for sale.

If anyone is interested in obtaining this CD, let me know by replying to this post. I will try to put up a sample song that you can listen to sometime tomorrow. However, these guys put a lot of effort into this, so I won't be offering songs for download as there's too much of a chance for piracy that way.

They are offering the CDs for $15 each. However, if he mass ships them to me, the price may be slightly higher (not more than $1 or so) to pay for the individual shipping to each buyer.

If you have any questions or want a CD (or CDs), let me know and we'll get one to you. I'll post here where you can download and listen to a sample song as soon as I can get one uploaded.

Before anyone asks... if there are any fighter pilots out there reading this, this CD is not the disgusting songs you're used to singing in the bar on Friday night. Unlike those fighter pilot only songs, this CD is (mostly) consumable by all ages and genders.

TG,
There's a guy in my flight who was in these guys' squadron in Iragi Freedom. He's a personal friend of these two dudes. On a weather day we listened to the CD and every song had curse words in it. I couldn't help but think how funny it would be to share with folks if the language was clean. Is this professionally recorded version cleaned-up?? If so, I'd love it. I love fighter pilot songs but have a problem sharing them with family and friends when most of them are pretty vulgar. Thanks for the info.

Cheers...

Word of advice, never have it in the Cd changer on the way to church..

Ive had a few embaressing moments. Kid goes out to the car, to get something,...tada dada dada tada dot da.... TITS! oh man.... Never thought id hear the end of that one.most times i'm forgiven for my military transgressions..

My son on the other hand was not nor were his buddies that were in on this big secret... but made the mistake of turning up the Volume on the radio....Everybody heard it....everybody...

Some things are more sacred than the home video of your Honey moon and bachelor night.

I'll relisten and double check. I know several of their songs were kept off of the CD for reasons we can probably guess. For BigThug, these are not the "real" fighter pilot songs that are never heard (or should never be heard) outside the bar on Friday night.

I met those two at Barksdale last year, they were great! Some excellent new songs about OSW and OAF, too. Where can I get the CD?

TG,

We'd like the info too. We got a song e-mailed to us and we love it. It says Track 6 while it plays on Media Player.

Funny stuff!!

While the songs are funny and all there's a lot of Crew Chief bashing going on that has upset some flightline folks mainly because the things brought up in the "because I'm a pilot" song are mostly true and the pilot that played it for us was laughing about it.
T.G. is this the way pilots really view their crew chiefs,(as bellhops), or is this music strictly for entertainment purposes?
Don't get me wrong, I got a kick out of it!, But some of the Crew dogs over here got quite offended!

When i was in we totally berated the Armor(aka DATS) and artillery(aka gun bunnies/cannon cockers), and they us.

But it was all in fun.

Once the steel starts flying none of that shit matters or is remembered.

Hogfixer...

I can't speak for everyone, but those songs were written in fun. Basically what the authors did was try to see the pilots through the crew chief's eyes, not the other way around.

If you take it in the original light, it was supposed to be making fun of the pilots and the way we act, not the crew chiefs. Dos Gringos wrote that song for the crew chiefs and had many of them in the Sand Trap for the debut. From what I could tell, they loved it.

Of course, I can't account for every ass**** pilot out there. What I can say is all of our pilots like the song but also understand simple human courtesy.

As a pilot I laughed pretty hard when I heard that song. The way I took it was definitely a bag on the pilots, not the crew chiefs. I'm sure that's the way it was intended. And I'm sure there are pilots out there like that, but not too many. At Eielson we had a great rappour with the chiefs, more like brothers than anywhere I've been. We all worked hard to get the mission done and it was awesome....

Just for everyone's information, Snooze (a singer in Dos Gringos and the main guy for purchasing these CDs) has created a small website with the contact information and address for payment. Click on the link below to go there and let him know that tinygiant sent you over there. Not to worry, I don't get any financial benefit from referals.

http://www.dosgringosrocks.com/page5.html

To entice you to buy one, here's one of their songs in Windows Media Player Format. You have to right click and Save As...

As a side note, please do not copy and distribute these songs illegally. These guys worked hard to produce these CDs and they deserve every penny they get from them (and it's only 15 bucks).

Attack!
