I recieved a model for Christmas from the franklin mint armour collection. Its painted in green camo from the 23rd when they were at England AFB. Tail EL 80-186. Just curious if anyone knows a little of the history of the plane. I assume it was in Gulf War 1..is it still with the 23rd today at with Pope? Would be neat to know a little of its background. |

IT WAS 80-0186,AND BEFORE AND MOST OF DESERT STORM WAS 23TFW WING COMMANDERS JET.COL DAVID SAWYER ASIGNED TO THE 76TH TFS. 0186 WAS SHOT UP AND REPAIRED. THEY CHANGED CC/BIRDS AND LATER ON WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE 74TH AFTER THE WAR. SO THE 74TH TAIL CAP IS POST DS. I HAVE THE SAME MODEL TOO KEN PRESS TO TEST |

I've got that one two...and the one from Pope...waiting on either the "Peanut" or "Jaws" model for Xmas...parents got one for me, asked for both, they got one, but both are on back order so they are gonna get me which one comes in first...then I'll order the other...want to get the Spang one two...and am hoping they make some new designs....can never have enough A-10s (atleast I can't..especially since I'm now a pilot two...LOMAC rocks...lol...)
