Anyone remember when the A-10 officially pick up CSAR as an additional mission?

After ODS wasn't it?

Wasn't the whole OA-10 designation how they avoided Cheney's axe?

Location: NAS Norfolk VA
The A-10 has had the CSAR mission since it first came into service. The stateside A-10 units have always carried the mission, USAFE units didn't pick it up until after WWDS. I think Korea and Alaska trained to CSAR from the start as well.
