First of all, I was amazed at all I found on this subject already in this forum. However, it seems that some propsed upgrades for the A-10 have yet to happen or have been chopped completely. I was wondering if anyone had any recent info on if the LANTIRN is still be considered as a possible upgrade? Thanks! M2 |

I dont think the Lantirn would be an upgrade. The Litening II pod or the Sniper pod which is in progress from what I understand are superior to the Lantirn. Any pointy heads out there that can shed some more light ? By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson |

I once read that the LANTIRN was inferior to the system used by the GR.1 Tornado IDV....first penned in 1969. Don't know if it's true, but i found it interesting. "US Snipers, Providing surgical strikes since 1776" |
