I have Python (1) showing on 78-0640 which I know is right because I have a picture of it showing the door and nose of the aircraft. I also show this aircraft as having "Nomad" on it (at a later date?). Large version http://www.warthogpen.com/art_files/doorart35.jpg I show Python (2) on aircraft 78-0644 and I can't see the nose but can make-out the pilot and CC which is the same as on 78-0640. Larger version http://www.warthogpen.com/art_files/doorart88.jpg Now my question is, did the CC and pilot (who's called sign is Python) move from 78-0640 onto 644 and paint Python 2 on their new jet or is some of my info. wrong? I would put the base where they're stationed but I feel I've been posting tail numbers and bases a bit to much. If you are stationed at the bases these aircraft are located at then you will know who you are. Also please email me at Hogpen13@aol.com if you know the answer(s) to my questions. HMFIC |

Hey Dice, the first Python you have is from 78-640 the Crew Chief is TSgt Tony . The pilot was until recently (retired)LtCol. Rob Serra. The second Python door art you have is the new door on 78-640. The same crew chief and pilot apply. The original Python ws not exactly what Tony wanted because it said Python but looked to much like a Cobra. So he had it repainted in kind of an abstract but much more appealing The Nomad door art is from 78-626. The Crew Chief that put it on was originally MSgt Tim Keenan. he was a Marine door gunner / crew chief on UH-1's back in the Nam. He retired a few years back but the door remains on there. The pilot at the time was LtCol. Lawrence "nomad" was his call sign. Hw was a prior Navy A-4 / A-7 driver before coming to the 104th. He too has beeen retired for more than a few years. The new Crew Chief on the jet is MSgt Art and the door will stay on, it is a classic. The next jet is 78-104 and it has the cow girl riding the GAU-8. The Crew Chief is TSgt Bob and the pilot is our Skipper because it is the 104th Flagship. I dont think Bob has decided on a name yet. The two that he has out there are either "Boss Hawg" or "Riding Shotgun". This was actually just turned in a blank door to the artist who put his own design on it. It was just artist choice. But it is definetly one of the best I have ever seen. The aircraft 78-630 has "Lady Liberty" on the side. The Crew Chief is MSgt Roger and the pilot was untill recently (retired) LtCol. Bob Pagoni. In the picture you cant see the nice script that now says Lady Liberty because the stencil wasnt done yet. I will get you an updated picture. Forgive me Dice I had to go back and delete the last names of the Crew Cheifs and pilots if they are still on duty untill I get their permission to post their last names. I wasnt thinking when I did it. Pretty shitty world we live in when we have to worry about stuff like that. By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson Edited by - Hawg166 on Apr 09 2004 12:22 PM Edited by - Hawg166 on Apr 09 2004 12:26 PM Edited by - Hawg166 on Apr 09 2004 12:41 PM |

This is the Door from 78-632. The Crew Chief is Msgt Mike and the pilot is LtCol Chris. The same person painted 632, 626, and the original 640. This door is on 78-644. The Crew Chief is TSgt Abdias and the I am not sure who the pilot is. This is the guy thats on 'The Lord of the Rings'. It was painted by the same artist that painted the new door on 78-640. On the website www.michaeldooney.com you can see the four jets that Michael Dooney has done for the 104th By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson Edited by - Hawg166 on Apr 09 2004 12:23 PM Edited by - Hawg166 on Apr 09 2004 12:42 PM |
