Just wondering, found this looking around in the gallery, what exactly is going on? Is this from a crash? http://www.a-10.org/photos/p.asp?FileNa ... D006%2Ejpg "Some pup" Nickname by Fenderstrat72 |

I would not think that photo is of a crash. I have seen several recovered barrels from crash sites and they were never in good condition. They usually look like a pretzel Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant! |

I'm not saying at all that Coach is wrong, but is it possible that this is 81-0985's gun after it ran off the runway at Spang and did a nose dive into the dirt? Just a thought! |

They are going to blow that sucker in the picture up! <img src="http://www.warthogpen.com/bs/sig1.jpg" border=0> |

why blow up a jammed gun? can't they repair it - or is it as expensive as buying a whole new 1? |

It's what they usually try to do. But if the gun can't be safed, it can't be worked on. Most likely, this gun was damaged during whatever caused the jam to the point where it cannot be disassembled. And generally, the stuff that would need to be replaced are expensive enough, you'd probably want to just buy a new gun, rather than risk eardrums or worse. "Some pup" Nickname by Fenderstrat72 |
