Dice,

I was reading the story about your find of the wind tunnel models (http://www.warthogpen.com/tunnel.html)and something peeked my interest. I saw the pictures of the A-10 with tip tanks, my question is do you know if this was ever actually tested on a flying version of the aircraft?

Hitler, as far as I know they never made it out of the wind tunnel just like the split-slats (two on each side), about 8 different wing-fence designs, and rails to carry AIM-7 missiles!!

just wondering, I thought it was interesting and since I worked OA-37's I knew it would have been a bi-a-th to refuel with tip-tanks.

Jack,

I'm refering to the wing-tip tanks, like the OA-37 had out on it's wing tips. In the story I was refering too his model shows the A-10 with tip tanks.

Aaaaahh, I see them now. I had already seen those pictures, but hadn't noticed them. So much for attention to detail.
