I was surfin' the 'net looking for good A-10 pics when I came across this...

<img src="http://img.groundspeak.com/track/log/253647_300.jpg" border=0>

Am I seeing things or is that some kind of one-off paint scheme??

It looks like the A-10 that is at the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson AZ.

Looks like a standard Euro I paint job to me which has seen a LOT of sun, wind, and maybe a sander on the nose section.

Yep 75-0298 former 358th FS aircraft that arrived at AMARC on 13th Nov 1992 then to Pima.

Yeop, that's 75-298:

So that odd swirling is the result of 12 years of sitting in the desert? Damn, I'm with Mudd, that's fucked up!

Sorry, Mudd, didn't realize it may be a depressing sight. <img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

I feel their should be some obligations upheld to the museum owners when they recieve these National Defense hardware.

Here they are sitting with millions if not a billion dollars worth of Taxpayer property and they let them whither away without any dignity or respect.

The rusted barrel makes me want to Hurl.

Granted the HAFB Museum has very well taken care of displays, we also have the depot and a good volunteer effort. But it is of absolutely no excuse why the Pima cannot maintain their displays.

Must be all the rain is making rustproofing a b!tch. Someone should just have the kindness to shoot the poor old girl and put her out of her misery. I bet their F-16 looks awesome.
