Hi guys, this is my first post so I'll start by saying 'hi.' Great site and great board.

Anyway, I know that all the claims on Venik's website are BS, but (just out of curiosity) does anyone know what exactly these pictures are showing? Venik claims that they're from an A-10 that was shot down, but since this is obviously untrue, are they even from an A-10 at all?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, that's a cowl door, looks like from the #2 side. Hmm, Feb. '99, wasn't that during ALLIED FORCE? Could be from 967, That jet was shot up over there, on the #2 eng.

First, welcome to the forum! Yeah, these pics have been posted before, so the threads are archived somewhere, along with the rest of the aircraft that made it back (with one green engine after repair, if I remember correctly?).

WSteig, here's a link to the thread this was previously discussed on.
http://forum.a-10.org/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6196

And some pics of the jet before and after repairs.

I'd never seen those pics of the cowl before, or heard of this "Venik's website", so I seached venik on yahoo and found it. Pretty cool. I'd always thought that the door had been blown to bits, But it's in much better shape. There aren't even any burn marks, just smashed all to hell.
