Will I have some clip which I think came from one of the two demo teams (the West Coast A-10 Demo Team is at http://www.dm.af.mil/demoteam/ and the East Coast A-10 Demo Team is at http://www.pope.af.mil/23fg/demo/demoweb.htm -- I <i>think</i> those are current URLs!). They are 6MB+. I can't check either of those 'cause the proxy server I was using went TU, and I can't reach .AF sites from my Belgiqistan ISP. Good luck, hope this helps! M2 |

Ok. Here's the link directly from the Air Force pubs site: AFI 11-246v1. It spells out exactly what an A-10 will do during a demo, including airspeeds, altitudes and descriptions of all maneuvers. Edited by - tinygiant on Sep 21 2004 02:37 AM |

I noticed that pretty much all of the Hawg maneuvers are flown with max throttle... strange... <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> 3M - http://www.freeproxy.ru/en/free_proxy/cgi-proxy.htm You gotta sort thru them a bit, but you should be able to find one on there that works. ~Thud |

Whiteside, Every time I see videos of that hog flying I'm impressed. I don't think you could get any more realistic unless you where actually putting lead on the target. AMAZING! I know this isn't the bonus but did I also notice a code 3 flight in there? Faulty gear handle or did the Crew Chief forget to pull the gear pins <img src=newicons/anim_lol.gif border=0 align=middle> capche-capche da - we go forward together Faugh ah Ballaugh -Clear The Way- |

Max power is still less than .5 to 1 T/W ratio... Well, maybe around .5 to 1 clean and low on gas like the demo team flies them... ATTACK!!!!!!! |

Yeah just a little humor... I was looking at how mast of the F-15 maneuvers list throttle as "as required," while the hog "requires" FT just about all the time! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> M2 - typo on your name in the above post ~Thud |

Guys, Great! I am really stoked you guys are so on board with this project. I've got to say that I pride myself with being able to fly a model like the real A/C but this one keeps me on my toes. It is SO capable that tight turns, fast roll in and out can be scale to the full size. I am trying hard to make it look right but need to see one in action flying the scale routine to get it in my minds eye. Thanks for the great comments. Tiny, great on the PDF. I will get some good info out of that doc. Yes, the nose gear sisnt come up and lock that one time. I think I had the jet under "G" during the cycle. came up fine on the jacks after the flight. I'm 55 lbs with 34lbs thrust at SL so I'm underpowered comp to the real Hog. Still fighting CG. Added the gyro on rudder because the nose is really to light. Will |

In fact the Bulldogs AFETs rep (a good friend of mine) is here for the 75% PE TO review all this and next week and I can get a contact from him, I'll talk to him today. I can also talk to the PR person here (who owes me) and have it worked through DM's PR office. She's off today but I can contact her first thing Monday. Ugly But Well Hung |

Tiny, Yeah that doc will really help. Yes, most maneuvers will require full throttle. I will swap my lithium ion battery packs for some lithium polymer ones and save 12-13 oz. If I can move enough stuff fwd, I can swap out the nicad Receiver batts and save another 16 oz. Thats alot of weight. The issue becomes a CG issue, as I do need some weight in the nose for balance. Up to this point that has been with battery weight. I have installed a gyro on the rudders and NWS to stabilize the jet on the takeoff run. If you guys were to read the A-10 demo maneuver section of Tiny's Airforce document he posted, can you think of any maneuvers that are flown but not in that official document? Thanks guys. BTW, it looks like the RC jet meet that is in MESA AZ is just before Turkey day and then Tuscon jets is early next year. I will keep you posted. Will Whiteside |

Will Not sure if you are still interested/looking for demo vids, but I found out about a website called Steve's Air Show (http://www.stevesairshow.com/videos.html) and went looking for some A-10 vids there. Well, there are about 150 of them, to include three entire demonstrations by the East Coast Demo Team and one by the West Coast Team. Be aware that these are RealPlayer files (medium quality) and that the entire demo vids are between 14-16MB, but there are a ton of smaller segments of the demos that you can download. Now the hook, you have to go through each air show folder to find the A-10 segments, but it is worth the time and trouble if you want some nice A-10 demo vids. Cheers! M2 |
