After 13 years in the desert of AZ. the nose art on these A-10s have seen better days. One good thing these jets have had their wings pulled and referbished to be placed on other jets during SLEP1 so... they are still serving! Ugly But Well Hung |

Oh I like that last one. Its reallyto bad that we couldnt take the actual panels and / or doors from the boneyard and preserve them somewhere. when you get right down to it nose art or door art really is a part of American pop culture, and should be treated as such in a historical manner. The Air Force should be petitioned to keep these and create a hall in the Air Force Museum or in Pima for the preservation of nose art. Actually think I will give the curator of the New England Air Museum a call and see about that idea. I will file that under note to self....................... By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson |

Hawg166, I belive I know why you like the last one but, she did have an outfit on it's just the color red is the first to fade in the hot sun.... As you may or may not know a lot of the WWII art is being saved (the panels thmeselves) by a nonprofet org. and it would be nice if the A-10 could get the same treatment but...I don't see it happening. I've written to each unit (a number of times) trying to get the PA/historian to find all the nose/door art images they have so I can build a repository of the images but...I've just had no luck. Goose, the images don't have to be digital, with today scanners a photo can be converted nicely...it's just finding all those photos in basements around the world. A few more which are fading fast..... Ugly But Well Hung |

Your right Dice I did like it because I thought she was nekked, but I also like the design. It reminds me of Sack Time from the B17 days. Except Sack Time didnt have a Maverick. By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson |
